Experts: The UAE is qualified to manufacture luxury cars and has the capabilities to do so

Officials of agencies and car companies in the Gulf country said, “The UAE possesses many components and capabilities that enable it to manufacture luxury cars and spare parts, most notably the advanced infrastructure, skilled labor, experience, incentives and facilities in the industrial sector, and the ease of export and import due to its strategic location.”

They explained to the newspaper “Emirates Today” that “there are some components of luxury cars that are currently produced in the Emirates, and that the focus should not be only on assembly operations,” noting that “the Emirates has succeeded in building a solid industrial base, which includes various materials and components.”

For his part, General Manager of the Luxury Cars Department at Al Habtoor Motors, Joseph Tayyar, said, “Manufacturing in general requires the presence of three main elements, which are infrastructure, skilled labor, and experience,” pointing out that “advanced infrastructure, for example, is… One of the main components that made the UAE a destination for business and manufacturing, in addition to the fact that skilled labor and human capital are available in abundance in the country.

He pointed out that “the labor market in the Emirates is replete with large numbers of skilled workers.”

For his part, CEO of Porsche Middle East and Africa, Manfred Bruyneel, revealed that some components used in luxury cars from the Porsche brand are produced in the UAE.

Bruyneel said that although Porsche is a global company with German roots that manufactures most of its cars in its factories in Germany, specifically in Stuttgart and Leipzig, there are some components that are produced in the Emirates, which means that the focus should not be on assembly operations only.

For his part, Managing Director of the BMW Group Middle East, Karim Christian Haririan, said, “The BMW Group obtains basic raw materials from the Emirates, which are used in manufacturing processes, as it is the first client of the Emirates Global Aluminum Company, which produces CelestiAL-R aluminum, produced entirely using solar energy, is used in BMW cars, including the modern and advanced 7 Series models.”

The director of marketing and sales at one of the major car dealerships, Imad Haddad, said, “The UAE is qualified to manufacture luxury cars, and it also possesses many components and capabilities that enable it to manufacture them, most notably economic stability and the ability to apply the latest technologies in the field of manufacturing,” and the presence of many The incentives and facilities that encourage industry and the ease of export and import thanks to its strategic location in the middle.”
