We are prepared for all options

Iran continues to request a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, but Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchí stated this Saturday in Istanbul that the country is “prepared for all options” in the event of a confrontation with Israel.

“We are facing the serious probability of a large-scale war, and no one except the Zionist regime wants that war,” Araqchí said in a press conference together with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.

The Iranian minister added “The expansion of the war in the region is a serious threat. “We are in favor of peace, but we are prepared for all options.”

Araqchí arrived in Istanbul yesterday to attend the Caucasus 3+3 Platform, a forum that brings together the foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, Iran, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Today, he held a bilateral meeting with Fidan.

He accused Israel of “committing war crimes without limits” and stated that “no country in the region, starting with Iran and Türkiye, can tolerate this continuing.”

We support an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon,” Araqchí emphasized.

«We are in the middle of a global tension that can have very serious repercussions on a global level. Countries in the region and outside actors must refrain from taking irreversible steps. Türkiye does not want a war in the region. “We defend a prudent and cold-blooded attitude,” said the Turkish minister.

On Thursday, Fidan noted that he would “in no way support” Iran if this country “initiated a conflict that turned into war” with Israel, although he recognized its “right to self-defense.”
