Interesting feature introduction for YouTube users

YouTube is rolling out a new feature that is very similar to X (Twitter’s) Community Notes.

According to a report by 9 to 5 Google, this new YouTube feature aims to prevent misleading content on the video sharing platform. With this feature, users will be able to add explanatory notes to false content or confusing videos.

These notes will appear below the videos after they have gone through the review process. The feature was announced by Google in June and is now being tested. This feature is available to limited users who will be able to add helpful notes to videos to protect others from misleading content.

According to the report, if a user feels the video contains misleading or unclear content, they can use this feature.

The notes written by them will be reviewed by other users and if most of the reviews find those notes helpful, then they will be posted below the videos.

YouTube will send notifications to users informing them that their notices have been posted.

Currently this feature is being rolled out for mobile devices.

Users who have this feature will see an add note option below the videos, by clicking on which they have to write their note.

Users must also cite reliable sources in their notices while the content must be understandable.

The special thing is that the name of the person writing the notice will not be disclosed.
