Police officers of the Athens Department of Foreigners arrested a 39-year-old man from Bulgaria on Wednesday afternoon.
He had 2 warrants pending for his arrest for brokering serial illegal adoptions.
According to ELAS, the 38-year-old, together with other accomplices, during the years 2015 and 2016, in at least 6 cases in Athens and Katerini, mediated with the intention of profit in the transfer of pregnant women from Bulgaria in order for the newborn children to be adopted by families against monetary remuneration.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authorities.
