What’s Happening: Protvino and Serpukhov Events
Gather around, art lovers, culture vultures, and history buffs! October 19th is a date packed with artistic escapades in Protvino. You might ask, “What’s on the agenda?” Well, let’s paint the picture – quite literally!
Watercolor Wonders Await!
To kick off, the Protvino library is hosting a watercolor art class courtesy of the Rada club. Kids can unleash their inner Picassos from 12:00 to 13:00, while adults can showcase their ‘abstract’ skills from 14:00 to 17:00. Is it just me, or does that sound like enough time to accidentally create a masterpiece—or at least an impressive mess? A good place to channel your inner Monet or just slosh around some colors. Just remember, if someone asks if it’s a beautiful sunset or a giant abstract chicken, just say, “Art is subjective!”
Orthodox Seminar and Choir Concert
Meanwhile, from 12:00 to 14:00, there’s an Orthodox seminar taking place. Now, as for the evening’s plan, get ready to be serenaded by the chamber choir “Classics” from 16:00 to 18:00. You know what they say, nothing like a good choir to wrap up your Saturday and remind you of all the hymns your parents played in the car when you were a kid. Nostalgia can be powerful, can’t it? Just try not to tear up while reminiscing!
A Historical Exhibition Like No Other!
And guess what? That’s just the beginning! For those of you who don’t mind a little drive, Serpukhov is rolling out the red carpet for the “History in Faces” exhibition. This dazzling affair opens from October 19 to 20 at 10:00 in the museum and exhibition center. You’ll see figures from Ivan the Terrible to today’s famous figures. Talk about rubbing shoulders with history! Should be a hoot, unless you find that life-size cardboard cutout of a statesman a tad scary… then again, it might make for a terrific selfie!
Theater Fun: “Provincial Anecdotes”!
Fast forward to October 20 at 17:00, and you have a theatrical delight waiting for you: “Provincial Anecdotes” at the Serpukhov Musical and Drama Theater. Picture this: a small hotel named “Taiga” where individuals from diverse locales collide. Expect plenty of laughs, awkward encounters, and possibly someone trying to pass off instant noodles as a gourmet meal. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there!
Artifacts, Paintings, and More!
Oh, but do not rush home just yet! On the same days, October 19 and 20, the “Carriage Barn” gallery is presenting “Serpukhov in Artifacts, Paintings and Photographs” at 10:30. This exhibit sounds like a treasure trove for art and history aficionados – a melange of brilliant paintings and artifacts that scream (or rather whisper) stories of the past. Get ready to be impressed; heck, you might even find something to pass down as a family heirloom!
Excursion Alert: Merchant Mosaic of Ancient Serpukhov!
And if you still have room in your agenda for more adventure, on October 20, you can partake in an excursion titled “Merchant Mosaic of Ancient Serpukhov”, kicking off at 9:00. You’ll visit Cathedral (Red) Mountain and soak in the beautiful architecture of the Trinity Cathedral—the oldest temple in the city. Just keep an eye out; I hear the ancient spirits love to play hide and seek!
In Conclusion…
So, whether you’re painting, singing, indulging in historical curiosities, or laughing at a theater production, Protvino and Serpukhov have a rollercoaster of events lined up for you. Remember, creativity is boundless, history is fascinating, and laughter is the best medicine—unless you’re allergic to fun! Mark your calendars and prepare for a weekend full of color, culture, and camaraderie. Who knew October could pack such a punch?!
