What happened to comedian Eleazar del Valle? – The Financier

Remembering Eleazar del Valle: The Man Behind ‘Kompayaso’

The comedy family just got a little quieter. Eleazar del Valle, known affectionately as ‘Kompayaso’, tragically left us on October 17 at the age of 54 after spending almost a week in an induced coma. I mean, when you’re a comedian, you expect a punchline at the end, not a tragic ending, right?

What Happened to ‘Kompayaso’?

So, just to bring everyone up to speed, our dear Kompayaso suffered from a series of unfortunate health issues culminating in a stroke. His sister, Alix, confirmed the news, sharing the rollercoaster of emotions they endured throughout his hospitalization. You know, hospitals—where hope and despair seem to share the same waiting room.

He was rushed to the hospital, and, unfortunately, the doctors had to induce a coma due to brain damage that nobody could really assess. It’s almost poetic; the very thing that made him laugh now threatens to take him away.

The Irreverent Legacy of ‘Kompayaso’

Eleazar was not just a comedian; he was a clown with a mission—literally. The man took his craft seriously! He started his journey in a safety consultant role before putting on the big shoes and red nose. Talk about a career change! Who knew advising on safety protocols could lead to clowning around for a living?

What’s interesting is the character of ‘Kompayaso’ was born out of a fear of judgment. He was worried that people would mock him at work if he bombed on TV. Now, here’s a plot twist: He ended up being someone we all loved to laugh with, not at!

Health Concerns and Community Love

Sadly, health issues seemed to always shadow Kompayaso. He had been dealing with kidney failure and was awaiting a transplant—not exactly the kind of material you’d want for a comedy routine, unless he had a kidney joke up his sleeve. But I suppose that was the beauty of his humor—irreverent, cheeky, and unapologetic.

“Finally, he achieved success, the love of the people and that is what we are left with,” his sister Alix said. A heartwarming sentiment, but she left out the part where his mask, which he couldn’t stand at first, ended up being the trophy of his legacy!

The Heart Behind the Laughter

You know, life sometimes imitates art. His life’s final act was a testimony to the love and support he received—not just from family but from fans who watched him bring joy. It’s said laughter is the best medicine, but it turns out, sometimes it can’t heal all wounds.

As we reminisce about the life of Eleazar del Valle, let’s not just mourn his passing, but celebrate the laughter he gifted to the world. In a time where the world seems to take itself too seriously, the beauty of his comedic edge provided a moment of levity. After all, if laughter truly is the best medicine, then Kompayaso was surely a pharmacist of joy!

Kompayaso’s Legacy: A Life Well-Laughed

When we remember Kompayaso, let’s remember a clown who wore his mask for deep reasons, who took life’s absurdities and turned them into punchlines. It’s a tragic end to a life that seemed to bring nudges of joy. Though we’ve lost him, as his sister said, “What we have left is love.”

So let’s raise a glass, perhaps filled with sparkling water or grape juice—because, let’s face it, he’d probably want you to stay sober enough to appreciate the punchline of life. Here’s to Kompayaso—may his humor continue to inspire us to find laughter, even in the darkest of times.

After almost a week in an induced coma and a few years with health problems, the comedian Eleazar del Valle, known artistically as Kompayaso, died this October 17. He was 54 years old.

The news was confirmed by his sister Alix, who points out that he was hospitalized for about a week and, due to the conditions in which he arrived, they had to induce him into a coma.

What did ‘Kompayaso’ die from?

According to Alix, it was a series of factors that came together since Friday, when he was rushed to the hospital for an apparent stroke.

“His blood pressure went up, he had brain damage that we were never able to assess the extent of. Since Friday night we were in the hospital, he was intubated, they operated on him, we were waiting for him to wake up; Unfortunately it was not like that,” he explained in an interview for Telediario.

In addition, he added that his brother lived surrounded by the affection not only of his family, but also of the public who was attentive.

“Finally he achieved success, the love of the people and that is what we are left with,” adds Alix in her message, with which she also made it public knowledge that the family is receiving donations for Eleazar del Valle’s funeral expenses through the his daughter’s bank account.

What happened to ‘Kompayaso? This is how his health deteriorated.

Since Friday, October 11, the clown was hospitalized in a hospital, according to what his niece, Ximena Santamaría, stated in a telephone interview with the program De Primera Mano.

After being admitted in an emergency, the doctors decided to induce him into a coma, as he had suffered a stroke that could have been triggered by other conditions that Del Valle had.

“For the same reason (the kidney disease) he has high blood pressure, so it may have influenced all of this,” he explained.

When he shared the information he knew, he mentioned that he did not know at that time what his uncle’s health status was, since not even the doctors knew exactly what was happening.

“The prognosis they give us is reserved. We don’t know how he’s going to wake up (or) if he’s going to have brain damage; any problem speaking, walking, or seeing, or wake up as if nothing had happened. “Not even (the doctors) know what to expect when they take the medications away,” Ximena Santamaría commented a few days ago.

Since the beginning of 2024, he had been waiting for a kidney transplant, as his health condition deteriorated due to the kidney failure he suffered and he himself made it public knowledge in 2022.

Who was Eleazar del Valle ‘the Kompayaso?

Eleazar del Valle, known artistically as ‘el Kompayaso’, was a comedian, dubbing actor and host originally from Tulancingo, Hidalgo.

Born on April 13, 1970, he studied Acting and Directing for three years at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), from which he did not graduate.

The first years he began in the working world he worked as a safety and accident prevention consultant, which he alternated with comedy as an advisor.

He even went so far as to carve names on grains of rice, which he remembered with enthusiasm.

His ‘first steps’ in TV programs were in I have talent, a lot of talent, alongside Ana Bárbara. And precisely that was where he started with his clown ‘personality’ thanks to the mask with which we always saw him in shows, and which had a powerful reason behind its use.

This was the ‘birth’ of the character ‘Kompayaso’

“The original idea was to cover my face because I worked in several companies with people who watched this television program and I didn’t want them to make fun of me at work if I did poorly,” he said in an interview with Mara Patricia Castañeda in 2023.

A friend suggested that he dress as a clown, but upon realizing the complexity of the makeup, he decided to give him a mask. “When he gave it to me I said ‘it’s really ugly’, I grabbed some scissors and cut it out: it turned out worse. I said ‘no way’, and that’s how I put it on,” he explained.

In the same talk, Eleazar del Valle explained that he adapted the character to his personality instead of the other way around. Kompa Yaso was an irreverent character who used to use black humor to make people laugh.

“I think I was born with an angel,” he said. In addition to I have talent, a lot of talent, he collaborated on programs like Chisme no like and on stations like Ke Buena.
