The Super Farmers Soar: De Graafschap Defeats Jong PSV 3-1
De Graafschap made no mistake on Friday evening and recorded a deserved victory over Jong PSV. The Super Farmers dominated most of the match and could have made the score even higher.

It was a case of “hold onto your hats” from the get-go as the Super Farmers flew out of the starting blocks quicker than a kid at a candy store! Within just seven minutes, coach Jan Vreman was basking in the glow of satisfaction as a corner kick from Warmerdam ricocheted off poor Adamo Nagalo – a deflection so unfortunate it could be a scene from a slapstick comedy! 1-0, and Jong PSV were already feeling like the jilted lover at a wedding they didn’t want to attend.
And if that wasn’t enough, a mere ten minutes later, Tristan van Gilst decided to get in on the action. With a beauty of a shot into the bottom corner, he left Eindhoven goalkeeper Tijn Smolenaars looking about as useful as a chocolate teapot – 2-0. Don’t worry, mate! It’s not all on your shoulders!
Extra Time Drama
Now, De Graafschap continued to dominate the match, but you know what they say about football: it’s not over until the final whistle. After a string of injuries that stretched the first half like a well-stretched piece of chewing gum, we entered four minutes of extra time. In true football fashion, that proved just slightly too long as PSV’s Jesper Uneken decided to pop up like an unwanted guest at a party and nodded one home in the fourth minute of extra time – 2-1. After the break, Jong PSV looked like they’d had a pep talk and emerged from the dressing room a touch more dangerous. Of course, it was Van Gilst yet again, who, with the precision of a Swiss watch, found the back of the net for his second goal and wrapped up the game with a tidy 3-1. Ballon Man of the Match? You bet your bottom dollar!
The crowd erupted when Youssef El Jebli joined the action in the 75th minute, waving flags with the fervor of a rock concert and displaying a message that screamed true fandom: “Super farmer for life!” Talk about commitment! Even Philip Brittijn had a chance to make it 4-1 in injury time, but alas, he was caught a touch off-guard. Surprise, surprise!
