US forces carry out multiple strikes on underground weapons facilities belonging to the Houthis

The US Central Command, Centcom, said in a statement that the forces carried out multiple and precise air strikes on several Houthi weapons storage facilities within areas controlled by the group in Yemen.

She added that the warehouses contain various advanced conventional weapons used to target American and international military and civilian ships sailing in international waters throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

It reported that these measures were taken with the aim of reducing the Houthis’ ability to continue their reckless and illegal attacks on international commercial shipping and on US and coalition personnel and ships and commercial crews in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden, and to reduce their ability to threaten regional partners.

It indicated in the statement that Central Command forces targeted Houthi fortified underground facilities that house missiles, weapons components and other ammunition used to target military and civilian ships throughout the region.

It was reported that US Air Force and Navy units, including US Air Force B-2 Spirit long-range stealth bombers, were part of the operation.

She stressed that the use of the B-2 Spirit bomber demonstrates the broad capabilities of the United States to reach these targets when necessary, at any time, and in any place.

She explained in the statement that the damage assessment of the strike is ongoing and there is no indication of any civilian casualties.

At dawn on Thursday, Yemeni media reported that 15 air strikes targeted several areas in the capital, Sanaa, and the city of Saada.

Yemeni sources said, “The American-British aggression launched 6 raids on the areas of TV, Al-Hafa, and Jurban, north and south of the capital.”

She added, “The American-British aggression aircraft targeted with 9 raids the areas of Kahlan and Al-Abla, east of the city of Saada, northwest of Yemen.”
