Police in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday Islamabad High Court On the orders of Muhammad Haroon, a resident of Khyber district who went missing 15 years ago, a case was registered against former commandant Mehsud Scouts and others.
According to the case filed by Ghulam Muhammad, father of Haroon of Ghandi area of Tehsil Jamrud of Khyber district, the incident took place on July 11, 2009.
However, there are no further details regarding the incident in the case registered at Jamrud Police Station.
Khyber District District Police Chief (DPO) Salim Abbas Kalachi told Independent Urdu that the case has been registered in the light of the Islamabad High Court’s judgment and no further details about the case are available yet.
Ghulam Muhammad had approached the Islamabad High Court to register a case of his son’s disappearance, which ordered the registration of the case yesterday and directed the federal government to pay Rs 30 lakh as compensation to the father of the abductor. .
As per the decision of Islamabad High Court, the petitioner said that Haroon was forcibly disappeared in 2009.

According to the order sheet, the Government Commission for Enforced Disappearance established in 2013 had directed Haroon’s family to pay Rs.
The order sheet further said that ‘now the petitioner will have to pay to the government an amount equal to Rs.200,000 as of 2009 and if this compensation is not paid within two weeks, the salaries of the concerned government officials will be taken as security. .’
During the hearing of the case, the Additional Attorney General appeared on court order, who was directed to ensure the implementation of the orders of the Commission on Enforced Disappearances in the case by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defense and the Defense Secretary.
The case was adjourned till August 1, 2024.
