Sunday 15 December is the time for the annual route change for all trains in Norway. Vy will then introduce hourly departures between Oslo and Gjøvik throughout the week, including daytime on weekends, the company states in a press release.
It is happening after Bane Nor’s new signaling system ERTMS has been completed on this section.
In addition, Vy sets up an extra train to Jaren during rush hour, and more trains will stop at Stryken.
From December, there will be more departures between Arna and Bergen.
On the Vossebanen, there will be one new departure from Bergen and one from Voss in the evening from Monday to Saturday, as well as a departure from Bergen at 02.27 to Arna.
In addition, a new departure is introduced on Sunday morning at 5.57 at the request of those who work on early duty at Haukeland Hospital.
In Eastern Norway, there will be smaller changes.
In August and September, Vy introduced several stops in Asker to relieve the road network around Oslo in connection with the closure of ring 1. They must now stop this because Bane Nor cannot find space on the track for the trains, according to Vy.
However, on 17 May, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, there will be a better train offer in Eastern Norway. On 17 May, there will be Saturday routes instead of Sunday routes. In addition, there will now be no traffic delays on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
In addition, Follobanen reopens both tracks after Bane Nor has finished its works.
