AR Rahman Explains Prithviraj’s Film Not Qualifying For Grammys – Life & Style

Oscar winner AR Rahman explained in a recent interview that actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and director Blessy’s Adujeyotham The Goat Life were not eligible for the Grammy Awards.

AR Rahman said that when he presented the film for the Grammy Awards, it was rejected saying that its soundtrack was a minute short of the allotted time set by the organizers.

Talking about the film, he said, “We released four songs from Goat Life and since it was less than a minute or so, it was not considered eligible for Grammy entry. While people liked the soundtrack of this album.

The Indian musician also said that he did not perform Puneyan Selvan: Part 1 and Part 2 for the Grammy Awards. I don’t think I included the PS1 and PS2 on the Grammy Award list last year.

It may be recalled that AR Rahman was awarded the National Award for Best Music Director (Background Music) for director Mani Ratnam’s Puneyan Selvan: Part 1. He received the award from President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi on October 8.

Professionally, AR Rahman’s last project was the Dhanush-directed film Raayan. He will next be seen in Chhawaa, Thug Life, Gandhi Talks and several other films in multiple languages.
