Leones del Caracas returned to the path of victory this Thursday in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), after blanking Bravos de Margarita 10-0 at the Monumental Simón Bolívar stadium in the capital city.
The long-haired team unleashed its offensive power against the islanders to shake off the streak of three losses in a row and pass the baton to those led by José Moreno, who fell in the last trio of challenges played.
One of the most notable in the Caracas award was the Anzoatiguense Oswaldo Arcia, who went 2-for-3 with four RBIs.
Offensive bursts
The troop provisionally commanded by Hensley Meulens (manager José Alguacil joins next week) took advantage of a couple of offensive bursts to claim their second victory of the championship.
In the third chapter they ambushed the visiting starter Osmer Morales, for whom they scored five runs. In the fifth episode the victim was reliever Adrián Luna, who received three lines, and one more to Angelo Palumbo to put the shares 9-0.
The pack scored one more in the seventh inning to put final figures to the clash, which had starter Jesús Vargas (1-0) as the winner and Morales (0-2) as the loser.
Another standout in the capital’s attack was big leaguer Lenyn Sosa, who went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, three scored and two scored.
