Iberdrola League: The Battle Begins!

A Clash of Titans Approaches!

What a weekend we have in store for the Iberdrola League, folks! It’s Day 3, and boy, are we in for some serious volleyball action!

Six matches are lined up that could dangerously shuffle the order of the classification table. Four teams are strutting around with their unbeaten records like peacocks at a beauty pageant, just waiting to see who gets their feathers ruffled this weekend!

The Big Match-Up: Avarca de Menorca vs. Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna

First on our hit list is the clash between Avarca de Menorca and Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna. Now, you’ve got to love a match with stakes as high as a cat in a tree—that’s right, folks, a tall, dangerous tree!
Jimena Fernández, the main offensive reference for the Minorcans, will likely be firing on all cylinders to keep the home crowd rocking. Meanwhile, the Tenerife team isn’t just rolling over and playing dead; Belly Nsunguimina is in the house with those points and Lana Radakovic is ready to rattle a few nets.

Champions’ Duel: Hidramar Gran Canaria vs. Barça CVB

And talk about champions! Hidramar Gran Canaria is looking to rediscover some glory against Barça CVB. With Fran Carballo’s squad bearing down like a freight train, they’ll need every ounce of experience to tackle this task. Keep your eyes on newcomer Ariadna Priante—the Blaugrana are banking on her to deliver the goods!

F. Unicaja Andalucía vs. Madrid Chamberí

F. Unicaja Andalucía VB—a name so long it could hold up traffic!—will be aiming for their third win and hoping to add a few more points against Vallehermoso. Meanwhile, the Madrid Chamberí is planning to rain on their parade with the likes of Maguilaura Frías leading the charge. Who will emerge as the heavyweight champion of this bout? Fatuh and Ellen Saldanha or the rock-solid support of Ellis and Prol?

Can OCISA Haro Rioja Keep the Streak Alive?

OCISA Haro Rioja Volleyball will be seeking to keep their winning streak alive against CV Sayre CC La Ballena. They’ve managed two wins so far—will they make it three? Esther López’s team is looking primed and ready to unleash their collective attack, while the Gran Canaria side is just desperate for their first taste of victory. Oh, sweet irony!

DSV CV Sant Cugat vs. Arenal Emevé: The Solid vs. The Stumbling

Over in Valldoreix, the solid DSV CV Sant Cugat is looking to extend their perfect record against the struggling Arenal Emevé. With an offensive lineup featuring the likes of Raquel Montoro, the Galicians are hoping to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and turn the tide. The suspense is building!

Sunday Showdown: Heidelberg Volkswagen vs. Kiele Socuéllamos

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we wrap up the weekend with a bang as Heidelberg Volkswagen—yes, the only team not to drop a set yet—takes on Kiele Socuéllamos. Santiago Guerra’s team isn’t just driving around town; they’re here to put the pedal to the metal! But Chema Rodríguez’s team also has a few tricks up their sleeve with a cast of heavy hitters that could change the game.

So, assemble your friends, grab your snacks, and get ready for a wild weekend in the Iberdrola League! It’s not just volleyball, it’s an extravaganza of athleticism, strategy, and possibly some questionable hairstyles. Don’t miss it!

Iberdrola League | Previous Day 3

Weekend of important battles in the Iberdrola League. The third day of competition within the Regular League will feature six matches that will help define the classification a little more. The four teams that maintain their unbeaten record will seek to maintain their condition to continue occupying the first places in the table.

Avarca de Menorca and Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna compete in a duel of contenders with their sights set on continuing to progress in the competition. The Minorcans trust in their strength at home and in the points of Jimena Fernández, their main offensive reference, to counteract the growth of the Tenerife team. Facundo Morando’s block surpassed the current champion on the last day by giving them a blow. Belly Nsunguimina’s points and Lana Radakovic’s work on the net will mark the options of the Canary Islands in their complicated trip to the Balearic lands.

Hidramar Gran Canaria will try to recover the path of victories against Barça CVB in the champions’ duel. The champions of the Iberdrola League receive the champions of the last edition of the Super League 2 in a clash where the experience of Fran Carballo’s team will be decisive against the pupils of Miguel Fuente. The Gran Canaria punch threatens the Blaugrana team that hopes to grow in the championship thanks to its latest addition, setter Ariadna Priante.

Two games and two wins in the tiebreaker for F. Unicaja Andalucía VB who will try to attack Vallehermoso and add the three points against Madrid Chamberí. David Sánchez Flor’s pupils want to debut their winning tally in front of their fans, with the actions of Fatuh and Ellen Saldanha as great stilettos. On the Nazarene side, the MVP of the previous day Maguilaura Frías and the support of Lucía Prol and Emma Ellis will once again be decisive for the aspirations of Ricardo Fernández’s team.

OCISA Haro Rioja Volleyball will seek to maintain its great performance from the beginning of the season against CV Sayre CC La Ballena. The jugs have accumulated two wins and will try to continue adding in front of their fans. Esther López’s team attacked Lugo the previous day and will once again trust in their collective game to remain undefeated against the Gran Canaria team, still in the process of opening their winning tally. Matías Montalbán’s team wants to continue improving its game and performance to begin its climb in the classification.

Opposite dynamics at the start of the season are measured this Saturday in Valldoreix. A solid DSV CV Sant Cugat accumulates victories in all the matches played, including the two of its continental participation. The Catalans want to perpetuate their streak against an Arenal Emevé that continues to fit together its pieces under the direction of Higinio Artiles. The offensive contribution of Raquel Montoro and Maira Westergaard will be the Galicians’ greatest assets to achieve their first victory of the season.

The day closes on Sunday morning with the confrontation between the leader Heidelberg Volkswagen and Kiele Socuéllamos. Santiago Guerra’s players are the only ones who have not given up a set in the two matches played and are confident in the precedent against the La Mancha players played in Rome within the continental competition. The connection between Patricia Aranda and Dayana Segovia threatens Chema Rodríguez’s block, which accumulates numerous offensive options with Ane Cengotitabengoa, Denia Bravo, Amelia Portero and Renata Benedito as great references.
