Shoulder injury, Naseem’s World Cup participation doubtful

Fast bowlers of Pakistan Naseem Shah Due to his shoulder injury, his participation in the One Day World Cup in India next month has become doubtful.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is awaiting the medical reports before taking a final decision on Naseem’s fitness and his participation in the World Cup.

Naseem Shah against India in Colombo last Sunday Asia Cup was ruled out of the remaining matches of the tournament after getting injured while fielding during a match.

According to local media in Pakistan, initial scans on his right shoulder showed that his injury was worse than expected, but the board said on Saturday that Naseem’s health was still being assessed.

The board said:pcb The medical team is monitoring Naseem’s shoulder injury. Medical consultation with specialists is ongoing to provide Naseem with the best possible care.’

According to PCB, the medical panel will decide on the fast bowler’s return to cricket based on further evaluations.

20-year-old Naseem is the mainstay of Pakistan’s fast bowling along with Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.

Harris was also ruled out of the Asia Cup match against Sri Lanka due to injury.

According to cricket pundits, Naseem’s absence will affect Pakistan’s chances of winning the World Cup starting October 5.

Pakistan have been out of the Asia Cup due to injury problems after losing by 228 runs against India and by two wickets against Sri Lanka.

India and Sri Lanka will meet in the final of the Asia Cup tomorrow (Sunday) in Colombo.
