The state visit to Australia and Samoa has started. Next week, King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit both countries, which are part of the British Commonwealth. Watch!
On Friday evening (local time), the British royal couple landed in a rainy Sydney. They were officially welcomed there by, among others, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Photos of Charles and Camilla are projected on the famous Sydney Opera House to welcome them.

Previous visits
It is the sixteenth time for King Charles to make a major trip to Australia, but this is the first time as head of state. In a video on Instagram, the royal couple looks forward to “returning to this beautiful country”. The video shows various archive footage from previous visits to Australia by the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The young Prince Charles also appears in it.

Treatment for cancer
The British royal couple will go ‘Down Under’ for the first five days of the state visit. For this trip, King Charles is pausing his cancer treatment. Among the many meetings, a visit to two professors is also planned. They treat people affected by melanoma, one of the most common forms of cancer in Australia.

The Royal Welcome: King Charles and Queen Camilla Touch Down in Australia!
Well, well, well. Look who’s back! It’s none other than King Charles and Queen Camilla, ready to take Australia by storm (or at least by drizzle, given the weather!) as they commence their state visit. It’s like a royal sequel, and this time it’s raining — but frankly, what’s a little drizzle when the future king is in town? Just adds to the “mystique”, right?
The royal couple landed in Sydney on Friday evening, welcomed by the amicable Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Now, isn’t that a throwback to the days of colonialism? The only thing missing now is a marching band made entirely of vegemite sandwiches!
Lights, Camera, Royalty!
As if Sydney couldn’t contain its excitement, they projected glorious photos of Charles and Camilla on the iconic Sydney Opera House. I mean, how’s that for fanfare? It’s like they’ve gone from “Crown Jewels” to “Crown Virtual” — all we need is a selfie stick and a couple of kangaroos for the ultimate Aussie experience!
Number 16: A Royal Revisit
This trip marks the sixteenth time King Charles has graced Australia with his presence, but it’s a particularly special one as it’s his first as head of state. And who could forget the touching video released on Instagram featuring archive footage showing previous royal visits? Yes, that’s right! Let’s all gather around the ancient scrolls of our royal past — including footage of a much younger Prince Charles. Ah, the good old days, before the greys took over!
Brave Decisions: Cancer Treatment on Hold
In the midst of all this, King Charles has decided to hit the pause button on his cancer treatment for the duration of the visit. Now that’s dedication! Perhaps he thinks a dose of sunshine and the charming Australian wildlife can cure all ills, correct? Or at least, provide some excellent photo opportunities with a koala or two!
The couple will be engaging with professors treating melanoma, one of Australia’s most common cancers, showing that even royalty can lend a hand in the fight against a common enemy. Who would have thought we’d find King Charles waving his royal wand not just to wave at the public but also to advance health issues down under?
As They Say…
So, grab your popcorn, folks! It seems like King Charles and Queen Camilla are all set for a whirlwind tour of Australia. We’ll be watching closely — and let’s just hope it’s more glamorous than a wet Sunday afternoon at the pub. After all, nothing says “royal visit” like a bit of rain and a lot of anticipation! Cheers to the Commonwealth, and may the weather — and the royals — behave!
Stay tuned for all the juicy updates and royal shenanigans from the land down under!
