Red Bull RACER Max Verstappen is determined to end his drought of winning in eight consecutive races in the ninth series of Formula 1 2024 at the Circuit of the Americas, Texas, United States, which will be played early Monday morning at 02.00 WIB.

After winning at the Catalunya Circuit on June 23, Verstappen never found his best car performance in the next eight series.

Therefore, he wants to end his difficult period at the United States GP to defend his three consecutive championship titles from McLaren racer Lando Norris.

“The car feels better in Singapore,” said Verstappen.

“It’s been a good step for us in Baku and I think we are now heading in the right direction, but it takes time. You can’t change something like this in a week or two,” he added.

The Dutch racer admitted that Red Bull had difficulty matching the speed of its main competitors, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes, who in the last eight races have taken turns winning.

Eight additional points are on offer this weekend thanks to Saturday’s sprint (19/10) before F1 continues with two races in Mexico and Brazil in the space of one week, before the final three series in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

“It’s going to be a very busy, but also interesting, next two months,” Norris said. “I’m ready to get back in the car, so let’s show Texas what we can do.” Verstappen collected 331 points, 52 points ahead of Norris in second place, and 86 points ahead of Charles Lecrerc in third place.

McLaren’s impressive performance in the last few series has seen them occupy first place in the constructors’ standings with 516 points, followed by Red Bull in second place with 475 points, and Ferrari in third place with 441 points. (Ant/Z-6)
