Asunción, IP Agency.- At the Villa Elisa Women’s City Center, the days for mammography checks for the early detection of breast cancer were extended, with morning and afternoon schedules and on Saturdays. So far this year, 22 cases have been detected at the center and women are urged to carry out checks.

The coordinator of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Module, Valeria Vega, recalled that women have two free work days to undergo mammography and pap smear checks in accordance with Law 6122.

In addition, the Ministry of Health authorized that all women over 40 years of age can undergo the studies without the need for a medical order.

At the Ciudad Mujer Center, in addition to the availability of studies, there is a care area for children from 3 years old so that women can complete their studies. This area also works on Saturdays, he said in an interview with Paraguay TV.

«They are high-demand studies throughout the year. But if we women get to October and don’t do it, it’s time to do it. May we all be part of this preventive health,” she said.

At the Ciudad Mujer Center, more than 2,000 mammograms have been performed so far this year and 22 cases of breast cancer have been detected. Early diagnosis allows us to avoid complications of what is the main cause of death from cancer in women.
