A new 9-year record for the Athens Stock Exchange!

Up 2.21%, to new 9-year highs, for the Athens Stock Exchange on Tuesday, June 6. The General Price Index closed at 1,244.75 points, the highest close since July 3, 2014 (1,254.21 points).

On Tuesday, June 6, strong upward trends prevailed in the Athens Stock Exchange, with the General Index closing above the levels of 1,240 points, at new nine-year highs.

Investors’ interest was focused on banking shares, while the shares of Jumbo, Quset, Autohellas and GEK TERNA stood out from the high capitalization.

Goldman Sachs is proceeding with new price target increases for Greek banks. He sets the target price for Alpha Bank at 1.95 euros (from 1.70 euros previously), at 6.90 euros (from 6.20 euros) for National Bank, at 3.35 euros (from 2.75 euros) for Piraeus and at 1.70 euros (from 1.55 euros) for Eurobank.

The report notes that Greek banks had strong Q1 results underpinned by a stronger than expected pass-through of higher interest rates to interest margins and resilient asset quality trends with zero new NPL formation in the quarter.

The General Price Index closed at 1,244.75 points, marking an increase of 2.21%.

It is the highest close since the July 3, 2014 session (1,254.21 points).

The value of transactions amounted to 143.41 million euros, while 37,303,337 shares were traded.

The large-cap index gained 2.50%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.82%.

Of the large capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Jumbo (+6.19%), Quest Participations (+5.12%), Autohellas (+4.94%), Alpha Bank (+4, 49%), GEK TENA (+4.42%), Ethniki (+4.14%) and Ellactor (+4.11%).

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the PPA share (-0.50%).

Of the individual indices, the Personal Products (+5.98%) and Banks (+3.84%) indices recorded the greatest increase, while the Financial Services indices (-1.14%) and of Trade (-0.54%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 12,016,055 and 7,840,637 shares, respectively.

OPAP recorded the highest value of transactions with 19.13 million euros and Alpha Bank with 17.63 million euros.

69 stocks moved up, 32 fell and 24 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Frigoglass +9.65% and Alumyl +9.55%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Mouzakis (k) -4.11% and ELBE -4.05%.
