Canadian Ryan Wedding (43), a former Olympic snowboarder, has made a very striking career change. He is wanted by the FBI for running a drug trafficking network that transported large quantities of cocaine across North and South America and killed four people.
During the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Ryan Wedding was another promising snowboarder. He finished 24th in the parallel giant slalom. He is now one of the most wanted drug leaders in Canada and the United States. With his drug organization ‘The Wedding Criminal Enterprise’ he would stop at nothing, reports the American newspaper LA Times. He is said to have been active as leader of the criminal organization since 2011.
At a news conference, U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said Wedding chose to become a major drug trafficker and murderer. “He is accused of leading a transnational organized crime group engaged in cocaine trafficking and murder, including of innocent civilians.”
Innocent people murdered
The Canadian is said to have ordered the murder of an Indian couple visiting Canada in November last year. Wedding and his partner Andrew Clark, who has since been arrested, suspected that this couple had stolen a cocaine shipment. They were shot in front of their daughter, the daughter was also hit but survived the attack. Later it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.
Two other men with drug debts were murdered in the driveway of their home. “They were murderers. They dealt with violence, including murder, to anyone who stood in their way,” Estrada said. The duo hired hitmen and hunted down people they felt were getting in the way of their business.
Wedding has adopted several aliases, he is also called ‘El Jefe’ and ‘Public Enemy’. According to federal prosecutors, this is a billion-dollar company. During one of their investigations, a ton of cocaine, dozens of rounds of ammunition and more than $3 million in cryptos were seized.
The major drug criminal is still wanted by the authorities. It’s not the first time he’s been wanted. He was also sentenced to prison in 2010. After his release, according to authorities, he simply moved on. De FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for tips leading to his arrest.
The Unbelievable Transformation of Ryan Wedding: From Olympic Hope to Infamous Drug Lord
Ah, Ryan Wedding. The only guy who could turn a gold medal of athleticism into a one-way ticket to infamy! Our dear Canadian former snowboarder has traded in his Olympic dreams for a rather chilling career move—leading a drug trafficking network that’s apparently busier than a squirrel in a nut factory. Imagine spending your youth chasing gold, only to later chase down your rivals with a gun! It’s like if Tigger from Winnie the Pooh went from bouncing around in the Hundred Acre Wood to breaking bad… in Manitoba!
Olympic Dreams Derailed
Once upon a snowy time in Salt Lake City, Ryan fashioned himself the next great snowboarder, finishing a mediocre 24th in the parallel giant slalom. Not quite Olympic gold, is it? Instead, he seems to have taken a trajectory that would make a black hole blush. Fast forward to today, and he’s gone from catching air on the slopes to catching headlines as a cold-blooded murderer. He’s now wanted by the FBI for, get this, transporting copious quantities of cocaine and leaving a wake of bodies in a shocking spectacle that even a Hollywood screenwriter would find hard to pen!
The Wedding Criminal Enterprise: A Name That Sends Chills
And if you thought “The Wedding Criminal Enterprise” was just terrible branding, think again. It sounds like the world’s worst wedding planning business—“Welcome to your big day! Oh, and here’s your complimentary shipment of narcotics!” While other folks settle down, tie the knot, and maybe get a dog, Ryan seems to have said “Why not run a billion-dollar cocaine operation instead?” Talk about taking the plunge!
Innocent Lives Shattered
In a particularly harrowing twist, Wedding stands accused of ordering the murders of an innocent Indian couple mistaken for drug thieves, all in front of their child. I mean, come on! It’s one thing to be a criminal; it’s another to purposely inflict horror on an innocent family. It seems our former Olympic star has a flair for the dramatic—just not the noble kind! The daughter, perhaps as resilient as her father should have been, survived the horrific attack, proving that even in the darkest of tales, there’s a flicker of hope.
Time to Catch a Criminal
Authorities have placed a hefty $50,000 bounty on his head, which is substantially more than I’ve ever received for my punchlines at open mic nights! But as the U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada pointedly remarked, “He is accused of leading a transnational organized crime group engaged in cocaine trafficking and murder.” So apparently, he’s taken “always be hustling” to a whole new lethal level. And remember, this isn’t his first rodeo; he previously donned the prison stripes back in 2010!
Concluding Thoughts: From Olympic Glory to Infamy
So there you have it, folks! The tragic fall of a man who swapped medals for contraband—and made quite the bloody backup plan in the process. If you ever fancy a career change, take heed! While you might dream of swapping coal for crowns, sometimes it results in popping a whole lot more than champagne! Keep your eyes peeled and your tips ready, because Ryan Wedding isn’t just on the wanted list; he’s the star of a dystopian saga that still has a few chapters left to write!
