Neoenergia Coelba, through its commitment to the development of energy infrastructure in the Far West of Bahia, is carrying out strategic interconnection work between the Dianópolis and Rio do Ouro substations. The objective is to increase the operational flexibility of the distribution system and provide significant benefits for both residents and agricultural producers in the region, including Agribusiness Estrondo.
With the completion of the subtransmission line, the region will experience a considerable boost in its socioeconomic development, strengthening production capacity and the expansion of local businesses. Neoenergia Coelba estimates that, by 2027, R$2.2 billion will be invested in structural works in the Far West of Bahia, including the construction of 10 new substations, expansion of 15 existing substations and the installation of 501 kilometers of high voltage lines. All this investment will result in an 87% increase in the region’s energy capacity.
“Neoenergia Coelba’s new power subtransmission line will be crucial not only for the growth of Agribusiness Estrondo, but also for the sustainable development of the entire region. With the expansion of energy capacity, we will be able to optimize our operations and adopt new technologies that increase productivity in an efficient and responsible way. Furthermore, improved energy supply will boost other sectors and directly benefit local communities, promoting more jobs and generating more opportunities. We believe that this work will bring a lasting positive impact to the Far West of Bahia and we are grateful to be part of this progress”, explains Daniel Ferraz, the company’s administrative and financial manager.
He adds: “The gain in load in the region improves the energy matrix in the region by replacing energy generation with diesel generators, with clean sources, since the network is mostly made up of hydroelectric plants. The warehouse at Fazenda Despertar (Estrondo), as well as the Cotton Plant at Fazenda Centúria (Horita), currently work with diesel generators.”
