Daniil Medvedev had to withdraw from the Stadthalle on Thursday evening due to a persistent shoulder injury.
“I have a lot of positive memories with the tournament. So it’s a shame that I can’t compete, but I will definitely play in Vienna again next year,” said Medvedev, the 2022 Vienna winner.
With the top seeds Alexander Zverev (GER/ATP-3rd), who already completed his first training sessions in Vienna on Thursday, Alex de Minaur (AUS/9th) and Grigor Dimitrow (BUL/10th) are still three top ten -Player at the start.
