The referendum will take place on November 16 (official) –

The Council of Ministers adopted on Thursday a draft decree which convenes the electoral college on November 16 as part of the constitutional referendum.

Here are the main decisions of the Council of Ministers on the organization of this referendum.

Draft decree establishing the terms of the ballot papers for the referendum;

Draft decree calling the referendum;

Draft decree submitting a draft Constitution to Referendum;

Draft decree on the oath of members of electoral commissions.

These four draft decrees, taken in application of laws n°20/96 of April 15, 1996 and n°07/96 of March 12, 1996, govern the organization of the referendum on the Constitution.

The first draft decree defines the terms of the ballot papers to be used, specifying that two ballot papers printed on white paper will be made available to voters: one marked “YES” and the other “NO”.

The second decree convenes the electoral college for this referendum. Thus, the electoral college is therefore convened on November 16, 2024.

The third decree formally submits the draft Constitution to the referendum.

Finally, the fourth decree governs the swearing-in of members of the offices of local and consular electoral commissions, in order to ensure the smooth running of the 2024 referendum election.
