Asunción, IP Agency.- For the first time, Paraguay will host the regional conference “Empowerment of women in Tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean”, which will take place between October 21 and 22 in Asunción. It is organized by the National Secretariat of Tourism, jointly with UN Tourism, in cooperation with the Office of the First Lady.
The announcement was made by the First Lady of the Nation, Leticia Ocampos, and the head of Senatur, Angie Duarte, through a video broadcast by the social network X.
This event seeks to raise awareness about the challenges faced by women in the tourism sector, promoting an exchange of knowledge for the implementation of public policies, said First Lady Leticia Ocampos.
He also highlighted that this conference is an opportunity to learn and grow, strengthen the community and promote inclusive tourism.
In turn, the Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte, pointed out that it is a key moment to highlight the importance of women in the tourism industry, who represent 54% of the workforce in this sector, worldwide.
Both authorities invited women to join transformative tourism. They maintained that together they can build a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
