Piqué promises "good atmosphere and good weather" in Kings and Queens League finals in Tenerife

Football in Paradise: Piqué’s Tenerife Finals Extravaganza

Ah, Santa Cruz de Tenerife — where the sun is always shining and the football drama is ready to make you spill your drink! Gerard Piqué, the man, the myth, the recently retired footballer, has taken a step into the bright, humid world of event hosting. And trust me, he’s not just juggling balls; he’s juggling expectations with the finesse of a circus performer on a beach in paradise.

The Unveiling of the Finals

This week, Piqué strutted into the scene like a peacock at a feather convention to announce the finals of the Kings and Queens League. If you’re shaking your head in confusion, fear not. It’s a new-age football spectacle designed to showcase the glamorous side of the sport: the great players, the glitz, the glamour, and yes, even the questionable haircuts — looking at you, Pedri!

The event is scheduled for December 21st, and Piqué’s got promises of “good weather” and “good atmosphere.” I mean, as he casually draped the words “paradise” across the stage, you could almost hear the collective sigh of those stuck in wind-swept office cubicles. Talk about a work-life imbalance!

Why Tenerife?

People might wonder why the finals aren’t held in Barcelona or Madrid this time. Oh, the Audacity! But Piqué claimed that the island is like a really pretty postcard that you can actually visit — “a paradise” by his own admission. Honestly, can you blame him? The sun, the surf, and the “football fandom” that somehow sparks hope for Tenerife’s future as a football mecca!

And just when you thought you could enjoy your holiday without the stress of a World Cup looming over your head, here comes the 1×1 final. Yes, a 1×1 tournament where one lucky soul gets to represent Spain on the world stage! It’s like speed-dating for football — you either score or you’re out!

The Cabildo’s Cash Cow

Now, let’s talk about the local government. Rosa Dávila and Lope Afonso from the Cabildo were practically drooling at the thought of hosting this event. Their enthusiasm puts your grandma’s at a bingo night to shame! They’ve even hinted that the economic return will “multiply the investment.” It’s like they’re looking at this whole affair as a new “Get Rich Quick” scheme — if only Piqué was giving out secrets instead of just promises!

Entertainment Galore!

But it’s not all about the finals! Oh no, there’s more! The lineup isn’t just exciting for football fans; it promises performances by the likes of Manuel de la Calle and the band La la Love You. Star-studded football, followed by what can only be described as a musical fiesta — talk about a culinary delight for the ears!

Piqué has assured us that the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium will be ready, even if it means some “arrangements.” Which begs the question: will the field play host to the best turf in the world or will it play pull off its best impersonation of a potato patch? Only time will tell!

The Final Whistle

As the atmosphere thickens and anticipation grows, one cannot help but appreciate the ambition of hosting such a grand event on this beautiful island. Will it succeed? It’s possible. Will it bring tourism and a party atmosphere? Only if Piqué shows up in a dancing Santa suit!

So folks, mark that calendar for December 21st! Grab your sunglasses, your beach towel, and maybe a football — who knows, you might even kick it into the final! And if things don’t go to plan, well, just remember: it’s always sunny in paradise!

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Oct 17 (EFE).- The president and founder of the Kings and the Queens League, Gerard Piqué, presented this Thursday the finals of the competition that will be held at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on December 21 and has promised “good weather and a good atmosphere in paradise.”

The presentation took place on the esplanade of the Auditorium of Tenerife and the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, and the vice president of the island corporation, Lope Afonso, also participated.

Piqué has insisted that the choice of the island as the venue after the finals held in Barcelona, Madrid and Malaga is due to the fact that it is “a paradise” and that there will be “good weather.”

Furthermore, the former FC Barcelona player believes that there is a lot of football fandom in Tenerife and that there will be a “very good atmosphere” at the Heliodoro.

Tickets to attend the event went on sale this Thursday and, in addition to the men’s, women’s and 1×1 finals, the performance of Manuel de la Calle from Tenerife, Isabel Aaiún and the group La la Love You has been confirmed.

The big novelty of this edition will be the 1×1 final, a new tournament format and whose winner will represent Spain in the next World Cup, according to Piqué.

Likewise, only the Kings and Queens finals will be held, reducing the number of games played to ensure greater quality in the title games.

Among other possible surprises, Piqué has spoken of the possibility that players or legends such as Pedri González, ‘Pedrito’ or Óscar Alberto Dertycia will have an important role during the event, as will Barça member and European champion, Lamine. Yamal.

According to the founder of this tournament, the Heliodoro Rodríguez López adapts to the needs of the competition and, although some arrangements will be made on the field, it is expected to reach the final date without problems.

For their part, the representatives of the Cabildo have indicated that when the opportunity to host the Kings and the Queens League arose, they did not hesitate and put “everything on the table.”

According to Rosa Dávila and Lope Afonso, this event will have an economic return that “will multiply the investment.”

Furthermore, they have commented that it is a tournament that “aligns with the Tenerife brand” and that places the island as a possible venue to host major events of all kinds.
