Two women arrested after the police operation against criminal networks in Agder – a total of 21 accused

– The arrested are two women who were arrested in the aftermath of the action. One of these women will be requested to be remanded in custody, stated police inspector Jan Are Amundsen in the Agder police district in a press release on Thursday morning.

The woman in question, in her 20s, was released later in the day, as the Agder district court did not find sufficient grounds for detention, according to NRK. She is cohabiting with one of the other accused in the case, according to the ruling.

Several may be produced for imprisonment during the week and the time to come. The police also do not rule out more arrests.

– The reason why not all of the accused are produced for remand, and thus released, is a concrete assessment in each case of how great the risk of tampering with evidence is and how central a role the police believe they have in the network, says Amundsen.

100 police officers participated

Agder police district carried out a coordinated action on Tuesday against several people who are suspected of being part of or associated with an organized criminal network.

The police announced the action at a press conference the following day.

– The first action involving arrests was carried out at 6.30am. It was a coordinated and simultaneous campaign at several addresses throughout Agder. Close to 100 police officers were in action throughout the district, says Amundsen.

Those arrested live all over Agder. The police will not go into details about where these are from or where the actions were carried out.

Several detained

The 19 who were arrested in Tuesday’s actions are all men over the age of 18. 13 of them were remanded in custody.

At least twelve of the men are now in custody with a full letter and visit ban and media ban for the entire period, two of the weeks are in full isolation. Two will be presented to the court on Thursday, writes Agderposten.

– A not insignificant amount of drugs and weapons were seized, Skaar told a press conference on Wednesday.
