The 50-year-old father was found guilty by a majority by the appellate court for the heinous charges attributed to him (sexual abuse, human trafficking, etc.) and was sentenced to a total of 17 years in prison.
Cretalive.gr reported on the case when the girl, now an adult, decided to seek the help of the authorities and put an end to all this morbidity. She reported that her father raped her one night in the car. He threatened to kill her if she revealed their “secret” and promised not to bother her again. But three months later he raped her again and this was now done on a regular basis, with violence and with wood. A few months later he began to “market” it to various Heraklionites for a fee.
“Grandpa gave 500 euros”
The bazaar reportedly started with an elderly businessman as its first customer.
The girl herself had described in chilling detail her “sampling” of an elderly businessman in a deposition: “Do you like it?” the father asked the elderly customer in front of the …merchandise. “Nice girl,” he reportedly replied. Then she went to the car, as her father told her, while the two men talked for a while. Then the grandfather headed towards the minor and handed her 500 euros, which he later handed over to her father.
The patient claims that the father forced her to meet the “grandfather” on a daily basis in two apartments owned by him, in Heraklion, while she was forced to drink alcohol and use hashish to soften her reaction.
Over time, according to information from Cretalive, the father began to expand the circle of men to whom he gave his minor daughter. Soon, the old businessman’s son joined the “customers”, as the girl herself reported, while other people were added, including a merchant and a retired civil servant.
In her testimony, the complainant also referred extensively to the bad childhood years she had lived, expressing hatred and disgust for her father. She reported that he would beat her, put cigarettes down her throat, put her, her brother and her mother on their knees for hours, or make them carry boxes of cement on their backs, forbidding them to put them down. When they were hungry again, he would put his family inside a supermarket, make them smell the food and sweets and leave them in the end starving.
