Ilias Kasidiaris, who was convicted as a leader of Golden Dawn, filed a new request for release from prison, even claiming that he has served the entire sentence that has been imposed on him.
Ilias Kasidiaris, who today “attended” the trial of the Spartans without handcuffs, as he is on a seven-day leave from prison, announced his new move through his lawyer.
“We have a first-time convict who has completed his sentence for nine months and is not being released. The council’s decision is awaited, but an appeal has also been made to the European Court because they do not accept the presumption of innocence”, said Vaso Pantazis’s lawyer, referring to the application they have submitted to the Lamia Misdemeanor Council.
Already, the competent prosecutor has proposed the rejection of the request for dismissal of Ilias Kasidiaris with conditions, on the grounds that the appellate court is pending.
Ilias Kasidiaris, however, has turned against the prosecutor’s proposal by appealing to the European judicial institutions, putting forward the claim that the presumption of his innocence is violated.
