Communications and Digital Marketing Manager (14-month replacement fixed-term contract)

Action Education: Educating for a Sustainable Future

So, there I was—sipping my lukewarm coffee—scrolling through a job listing that’s as uplifting as a toddler on a sugar high, and I stumbled upon something brilliant: Action Education’s quest to change the world one classroom at a time! For over 40 years, this remarkable organization—formerly known as Aide et Action—has had only one thing on its mind: bringing quality education to the most vulnerable and marginalized populations. Girls, boys, women, children… it’s like “Sesame Street” but with slightly less drama and way more impact. Who doesn’t want to contribute to a more peaceful and sustainable world, eh?

The Power of Education

The article highlights how access to education morphs into a tool for combatting poverty, battling disease, and keeping climate change at bay. Like the Avengers assembling to save the world—except instead of Iron Man and Captain America, we have teachers and pupils fighting the good fight against ignorance, one lesson at a time. Lifelong learning is the name of the game, and they’re rolling out the red carpet for early childhood education, like a VIP section at a club, ensuring that everyone has a chance to shine from day one! And don’t even get me started on vocational training—it’s like giving everyone a high-five and saying, “You can do this!”

Let’s Talk Numbers

With a whopping 50,000 donors and 85 projects spanning across 16 countries, we’re talking serious business here! That’s enough projects to fill a mini United Nations. And their impact? Over 1.4 million children, young people, and adults have benefited from their efforts. It’s transformation on a scale that would make even Professor Dumbledore nod in approval. Just imagine: a classroom full of kids, hands shooting up because they dare to dream! I mean, who wouldn’t want to be part of something that sounds like it belongs in a feel-good movie?

Join the Movement!

Now, if you’re like me and believe that communication is the heartbeat of any great movement, you’ll be thrilled to know that Action Education is on the lookout for a Communications and Digital Marketing Manager. Yes, they need someone who can not only manage social media but can create multimedia content that makes people stop scrolling and start engaging. Think of it as being the Beyoncé of the education sector: you bring the flair, and they’ll provide the stage!

Responsibilities include everything from community management to writing that killer newsletter that makes donors feel like they’re getting a hug through the screen. And let’s not forget the social media advertising—because nothing lights up a charity like a good ol’ Facebook ad campaign. You’ll need to savvy with SEO too, because let’s be real: if it’s not on Google, does it even exist?

Are You the One?

So, what does it take to grab this golden opportunity? Well, an education in communication or marketing is a good start—preferably at the Bac + 5 level. A strong affinity for the digital world and an interest in educational and development issues will certainly tip the scales in your favor. You’ve got to be curious, dynamic, and ready to initiative, like a caffeine-fueled squirrel on a mission. And of course, let’s be honest, if you can write like a wordsmith and aren’t terrified by a bit of analytical data, you might just have what it takes!

The Perks Are Real

As if that all wasn’t enough to get you polishing your CV, the position comes with a 14-month fixed-term contract, starting at 30K Euros a year. And all this is based in the glittering heart of Paris, with teleworking options that allow you to impeccably balance your life between making social media magic and sipping café au lait in your PJs. Plus, think of having 23 RTT days—because who doesn’t love a good holiday?
