Mask Singer: masks revealed | ‘Mask Singer’ reveals ‘Panda’ and ‘Palcorn’: an American track and field legend and a popular actress

Well, well, well! Looks like the circus is in town! Grab your popcorn—sorry, I meant your Palomitas—because "Mask Singer" has returned, and it’s as dazzling as ever! I don’t know about you, but I’m more excited about the prospect of seeing who’s behind the masks than I am about seeing the latest installment of "The Golden Bachelor.” Seriously!

So, here we are with a fresh slate of masked marvels ready to strut their stuff. We’ve got Shark, Heart, Panda, Sheep, Fly, and—drumroll, please—Popcorn! That’s right, we’ve got more characters than a Hollywood blockbuster. I mean, at this rate, they’ll need to create a new category at the Emmys: "Best Reality Show Featuring Undeniable Supreme Talent Hidden Behind Over-the-Top Costumes.” I can see the acceptance speeches now: “I’d like to thank my agent, my tailor, and whoever thought a human should sing while being flanked by a giant visual representation of their animal spirit.”

Now, let’s dive into the sheepish revelations. The Sheep, who apparently browses the internet with varying degrees of ruminance—what a peculiar sight that must be! “Hmm, should I check my emails, or shall I just list my vegetable basket collection on eBay?” But honestly—who knew sheep could earn master’s degrees in life experiences? I can barely handle my Netflix queue.

Next up, the Panda—the ‘favorite of the kids and Queen Sofia.’ I can just imagine him lounging in his bamboo palace while the royal family holds court! “Your Majesty, please pass the tofu!” And just to add to the fun, he says he’s a “board pro.” Nice try, mate. We all know the only “board” anyone’s going pro on is the one that says, “Help! I’m trapped in a reality show!”

And then comes the Fly. A unique fly you might say? If I had a penny for every time someone told me they were “unique," I’d be broke! This fella exudes agility and annoyance—probably showing up at your BBQ uninvited and insisting on having a few words with your potato salad!

The suspense only builds with the unmasking! I mean, when Panda turned out to be Carl Lewis, my mind was further blown than a balloon animal at a child’s party! We knew he was fast, but who knew he could outrun an identity crisis too?

As for the Heart and Shark—now that’s what I’d like to call a captivating couple! A relationship that’s been scrutinized more than a mildly controversial TikTok dance. Honestly, if these characters had existed during the Spanish Inquisition, they would have been subjected to endless interrogations about their food choices and vacation spots.

And then there’s Popcorn—of course it’s all about the butter! You could bathe in it, and then maybe do a little dance that sparks joy! Which, surprisingly, only reminds me of my last trip to the cinema…minus the accosting of Ana Obregón, who apparently couldn’t escape the sharp eyes of the panel!

Oh, the guesses and the bets! The I-think-it’s-this-celebrity moments are just dripping with tension—like a bad cheese fondue. In the end, who cares about the outcome? We’re here for the spectacle, the fashion disasters, and the occasionally ear-splitting singing that makes us question whether we really want to hear “Don’t Stop Believin’” for the 17th time.

So raise your glass (or your jar of butter), ladies and gentlemen, and let’s toast to the absurdity that is “Mask Singer”—where the stakes are high, the masks are glamorous, and the identities…well, they’re practically as elusive as my motivation to exercise! Here’s looking forward to next week—may it be filled with more surprises and fewer life decisions from our masked compatriots! Cheers! 🍻

‘Mask Singer’ started its fourth season this Wednesday, October 16, with a first gala in which Shark, Heart, Panda, Sheep, Fly and Popcorn were going to compete. Two of those masks were going to end up being revealed at the premiere, where they have Javier Calvo, Javier Ambrossi, Alaska and Ana Milan as researchers and Arturo Valls as presenter.

In this edition, there will be 16 celebrities hidden in the masks who will become known throughout each installment. Athletes, singers, actors… all of them will reveal their identity. The first to participate were Sheep, Panda and Fly.

Sheep

Clues:

-“You might wonder what a ruminant old woman is doing in Mask Singer,” the mask has revealed. This would allow the jury to pigeonhole her into an age group… could it be a key clue?

-A trip to America and an Erasmus in Europe… what will you do?

-“If experience were a degree, I would already have a master’s degree,” he declared with confidence.

-Kelly lacquer and a large flower garden that “looks like something out of a movie” to shine “on the green carpets.” Will we be talking to any movie superstars?

-A basket of vegetables and traditional sausages… will they refer to their place of origin?

Researchers’ bets:

Javier Calvo: Amaia Montero

Alaska: Alba Flores

Ana Milan: Lydia Valentín

Javier Ambrossi: Ana Duato

Panda

Clues:

-During your entire presentation, you have spoken in Americanized English… could that be your place of origin?

-The mask has been defined as “the favorite of the kids and Queen Sofia”… could it be someone from the Royal Family?

-Two meters tall and 150 kilos in weight: a key point that could mark a before and after in his identification.

-Vegan and a “board pro”: this is how Panda described himself while eating tofu.

-A lover of his safe place and with a large number of awards and recognitions: this is how the mask has revealed his greatest hobby and his closest circle.

Researchers’ bets:

Javier Calvo: Will Smith

Alaska: Pau Gasol

Ana Milan: Jason Lee

Javier Ambrossi: Nick Carter

Panda, in his performance. A3

Mosca

Clues:

Agile, fast, flying and sometimes a little annoying: these have been the most characteristic features of this mask. What will it refer to?

“When I was 7 years old, my parents thought I was a firefly,” he openly confessed. This has led Javier Calvo to think that, at first, no one knew what it was. Will it be on the right track?

“I am a unique fly,” he declared, although he has let us see that there are many people who want to overshadow him… Could he be someone very controversial?

A flag of France, one of the United States… Will it refer to your place of origin? Or perhaps to the place where you have lived?

Researchers’ bets:

Javier Calvo: Itzan Escamilla

Alaska: Marta Jiménez

Ana Milan: Pablo Motos

Javier Ambrossi: Lola Lolita

Mosca was voted the favorite and was spared from showing her face.

First mask revealed

After Fly and Sheep had escaped, it was time to unmask Panda. Surprisingly, it was the American athlete Carl Lewis, winner of 10 Olympic medals during his career.

After that, it was the second round of performances:

Heart

Clues:

-A couple that is characteristic of the Spanish scene, highly criticized and that has had to fight to stay strong… what will it mean?

-They have highlighted how important food is while showing various dishes: a fabada, a steak and some potatoes. Alaska has suggested that it could be hoteliers… is she right?

-When saying goodbye, we were able to see some palm tree leaves… could it refer to some tropical place?

Researchers’ bets:

Javier Calvo: Cristina Pedroche and Dabiz Muñoz

Alaska: Tamara Falcó and Íñigo Onieva

Ana Milan: Tamara Falcó and Íñigo Onieva

Javier Ambrossi: Cristina Pedroche and Dabiz Muñoz

Heart, in his performance. A3

Shark

Clues:

-His deep, accented voice has been a key clue that could be very useful in the future to expose the mask.

-A charismatic and overwhelming personality of a shark known “all over the beach”… could it be an international actor or singer?

-Fiesta party and eager to have a good time. Our mask has not hesitated to dance the Aserejé. Could it be related to the group?

-The masked man has made it clear that the advertising sector is his thing. Who could it be?

Researchers’ bets:

Javier Calvo: Joaquín Sánchez

Alaska: Leo Harlem

Ana Milan: Joaquín Sánchez

Javier Ambrossi: Dani Rovira

Popcorn

Palomitas, in her performance. A3

Clues:

-“This is the beginning of a great friendship”: this was the declaration of the mask that made Ambrossi jump for joy. Does he already know who he is?

-Popcorn drank an entire jar of butter… without thinking twice! Could it be related to your work? Or with a hobby?

-You have recognized that one of your biggest dreams is to cross the pond, and you have already fulfilled it: you have traveled to the United States! Will you have any business on the other side of the world?

-The danger sign next to the image of Ambrossi and Javier Calvo seems to have been key… could it be from their close circle?

The researchers’ bets:

Javier Calvo pressed the informer and assured that it was Ana Obregón.

Alaska: Samantha Vallejo-Nágera

Ana Milan: Ana de Armas

Javier Ambrossi: Ana Obregón

The Javis were right and forced Palomitas to be unmasked, who was indeed Ana Obregon. Therefore, ‘Jaws’ and ‘Heart’ managed to save themselves.
