Political communications ANALYST Hendri Satrio (Hensat), assesses that Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s fat cabinet will clearly burden the APBN. This is based on the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet plan which will consist of 104-106 ministers and deputy ministers as well as several new ministries being split.
“Our APBN will definitely, even though it won’t, for example Pak Prabowo said that don’t take money from the APBN, but this fat cabinet is clearly burdening the state. Not only in terms of the nomenclature of personnel spending, but also infrastructure spending, including buildings and so on. ,” he said, Wednesday (16/10).
Hensat believes that Prabowo’s cabinet is getting fat because it has to fulfill the wishes of people who have contributed to helping him win the 2024 presidential election.
So, he explained, Prabowo had to change the nomenclature of ministries and ultimately form a cabinet which had the potential to burden the country.
“This is a phenomenon that we have to accept, so this may be the first electoral victory which then has the potential to burden the APBN,” he said.
On the other hand, Hensat does not deny that the cabinet that will run the government will not be much different from President Joko Widodo’s cabinet.
This, continued Hensat, was demonstrated by the 17 Jokowi era ministers who were summoned by Prabowo to refill seats in the cabinet.
According to him, this shows that President Joko Widodo inherited a lot of debt and his programs from Prabowo.
“In my opinion, Mr Prabowo, perhaps with the composition of the cabinet as we saw yesterday, Mr Jokowi’s debt regime will continue to carry out his works, programs or projects,” he said.
“So, if I see this, there is a tendency for Pak Prabowo, the important thing is that he be inaugurated first, then when he has been inaugurated later, he will feel comfortable and then there will be political movements to make himself the leader that the Indonesian people really hope for,” he added.
Even so, Hensat admitted that he remained optimistic and gave Prabowo the opportunity to run the government and his cabinet.
“I say yes, indeed we have to give Pak Prabowo the opportunity to rely on his government and give Pak Prabowo the opportunity to lead the cabinet,” he concluded. (J-2)
