CANCUN.- After going to a work table in the Cancun International Airportthe governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced that with the support and consideration of the director general of the National Customs Agency, André Georges Foullon Van Lissum, it has been decided eliminate the criterion that imposed a charge to passengers who entered with computers or electronic tabletson your personal use equipment.
“For Quintana Roo, tourism is a priority activity and the streamlining of tourist service processes must be permanent,” explained the head of the Executive.
Mara Lezama reported that as a result of situations detected in meetings, reports and journalistic notes that showed the imposition of a charge for the entry of these tools, she managed various approaches and work tables with the National Customs Agency.
Today, after a visit to the airport and the review of different procedures and criteria, an agreement was reached to eliminate the criterion that imposed this charge.
When making this announcement, the governor of Quintana Roo expressed the welcome of the Quintana Roo residents to the travelers.
“Welcome to the New Era of the Mexican Caribbean. We are waiting for you with open arms,” he said.
