Two of Finanstilsynet‘s employees will be hospitalized at Økokrim’s response centre. The purpose is to further develop the cooperation between the agencies and to ensure that the Financial Supervisory Authority receives relevant information for use in its supervisory work.
– The agreement strengthens the cooperation between the agencies and will contribute to the Finanstilsynet getting more information relevant to the supervisory work. The purpose is to strengthen the work to uncover and prevent money laundering and other economic crime, the two agencies write in one press release.
One of Finanstilsynet’s main goals is to help fight crime. In addition to the financial sector, Finanstilsynet’s supervisory responsibility also includes accountants, auditors, estate agents and loan intermediaries.
Økokrim investigates and brings to court the large, complex, more serious and/or principled cases relating to economic crime and environmental crime.
The response center acts as Økokrim’s central hub for receiving, assessing, prioritizing and coordinating information. The unit contributes actively by analyzing and presenting potential cases for further follow-up.
