THE BODY OF North Maluku (Malut) Governor Candidate (Cagub) Benny Laos was flown from Luwuk, Central Sulawesi to Jakarta, Sunday (13/10).
“We are here to pay our respects, welcome and deliver the body which continued its journey to Jakarta using a chartered plane at 12.10 WITA,” said Banggai Police Head of Public Relations Inspector Al Amin S Muda in a written statement, Sunday (13/10).
He said Benny Laos’ body arrived at Syukuran Aminudin Amir Luwuk Airport at 11.25 WITA using a Central Sulawesi Police helicopter with flight number P3203 from Taliabo – Luwuk.

The group in the helicopter included the Head of the Central Sulawesi Police Rumkit AKBP Dr. Judi Dermawan, the body of Benny Laos, Sherly Tjoanda (wife of the deceased) and Fadly Mandea.
Banggai Police Chief AKBP Putu Hendra Binangkari picked up and delivered Benny Laos’ body at Syukuran Aminudin Amir Airport.
His party has prepared and coordinated together with the Central Sulawesi Regional Police and the airport for the departure of Benny Laos’ body from Luwuk to Jakarta.

“We, the Banggai Police family, express our deepest condolences. We hope that the family will be given strength and fortitude,” he said.
Benny Laos died at the age of 52 years or coincided with the North Maluku Provincial Government’s 25th anniversary on October 12 2024.
The Deputy Governor, who was also the former Regent of Morotai Island, died along with five other people in the burning incident of the Bella 72 speedboat at Bobong Harbor.
According to the incident report received on October 12 2024 at around 14.05 WIT, an explosion occurred from the Speedboat Bella 72 which was boarded by a group of Candidate Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of North Maluku Number 4, Benny Laos – Sabrin Dehe and the team while anchored at Bobong Regional Harbor, Village Bobong, West Taliabu District, Taliabu Island Regency which resulted in a fire breaking out throughout the speedboat’s body.
