Mishustin: Russia is ready to continue working with China and Mongolia to achieve common prosperity

The Russian Prime Minister’s statements came in a meeting held in Islamabad with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Mongolia’s Prime Minister Luvsan Namsray Oyun-Erden.

The tripartite meeting comes on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The Russian Prime Minister stressed that one of Moscow’s foreign policy priorities is to strengthen friendly relations with Beijing and Ulaanbaatar, and said, “Strengthening friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with China and Mongolia, our close neighbors and strategic partners, is one of our foreign policy priorities, and we are ready to work together from “For the prosperity of our countries and the improvement of the quality of life of our citizens.”

Mishustin also pointed out the importance of tripartite cooperation in light of the formation of a new multipolar structure in the world, and said: “When a new multipolar structure is formed, the importance of effective regional cooperation, such as our tripartite relations, increases, and I am sure that this tripartite cooperation will interact with the development of the Eurasian Economic Union.” China’s “One Belt – One Road” project and Mongolia’s “Steppe Road” initiative meet our common interests.”

Russia, Mongolia, and China have strategic relations, and one of the most prominent projects being discussed by the three countries is the “Power of Siberia 2” project, which aims to extend a pipeline to pump gas from Russia to China via Mongolia.
