to be "slow"those of this magnificent Apple TV+ spy series are going at full speed… – Espinof

Slow Horses Season 6: Speeding Through Sluggishness!

Well, well, well, if it isn’t Apple TV+ flaunting its commitment to taking its sweet time with our attention spans. They’re giving us the ultimate contradiction—‘Slow Horses’, a title that doesn’t just describe the pace of the show’s plot but also the renovations happening at your flat after you’ve watched a few episodes. At this rate, I reckon the renovation crew is enrolled in the same sluggish spy training as Gary Oldman and his motley crew of misfits!

Still, the fanfare around the completion of the fourth season of ‘Slow Horses’ was hardly one for a party—more of a quiet sip of tea, really—because news just dropped that we’re getting a fifth season and now a sixth season package as well! It’s like finding out that the takeaway curry you ordered is a two-for-one special, only this one includes a “fatally fun” game of cat and mouse!

Spy as You Can

This upcoming season builds on gripping novels from Mick Herron—yes, books! Those things you pretend to read at classy social gatherings. We’re tearing into ‘The Country of Spies‘ (or ‘Joe Country’, to friends) and ‘The Slough House‘. Now, you might be wondering: “Will they finally reach a destination before I finish my pint?” Probably not, but that’s the magic of a series named ‘Slow Horses’! It’s akin to asking if you’ll ever finish a buffet while holding a “I’ll just have one more plate” philosophy. Spoiler alert: you won’t!

Joining Gary Oldman in this delightful display of espionage gone awry, we’ve got **Kristin Scott Thomas**, **Jack Lowden**, **Saskia Reeves**, and a supporting cast that would fit right into any royal jammy dodger family reunion—seriously, look at that lineup! If you don’t know half of them, don’t worry; neither does the rest of the world. The real question is whether Oldman will finally emote out loud rather than grumble his way through another moody monologue!

With this renewal, ‘Slow Horses’ leaps ahead to become the oldest child in the Apple TV+ family, surpassing ‘For All Mankind’. Although, let’s be real here: it’s still got some miles to go before accumulating the same number of episodes. It’s like that older sibling who reminds you they’ve cleaned their room, but it’s still a dinky single room compared to your sprawling palace!

So, hold onto your horses, or perhaps just hold onto something solid—like a glass of wine—while you prepare for another season of delightful espionage antics, bolstered by some of Britain’s finest talent. Who knew being slow could lead to such exhilarating drama? Now, if only they could apply some of that enthusiasm to my renovation requests!

Conclusion: Slow But Steady Wins The Race

So, what can we expect from the sixth season of ‘Slow Horses’? If you’ve been following the antics of Jackson Lamb and his little band of lovable rogues, you know it’s going to be a mix of humor, tension, and moments that make you chuckle awkwardly at your screen while your cat judges you. Yes, it’s a lot like my life. Can’t wait to see how many espionage blunders they can cram into six more delightful episodes while they go “on the run.”

And remember—keep your watches set to “slow,” because life’s too short not to embrace a little suspense…as long as the curry’s still warm, right?

What a pace of renovations they have to be “slow”. And the broadcast of season 4 of ‘Slow Horses’ just ended last week with a guaranteed fifth season and from Apple TV+ they have confirmed that, indeed, we will have season 6 of the spy series starring Gary Oldman.

A new renewal for a delivery of another six episodes in which we will see, on this occasion, to the Slow Horses of The Swamp “on the run, while Diana Taverner involves them all in a fatal game of retaliation and revenge”reads the official synopsis.

Spy as you can

This season 6 will be based on ‘The country of spies‘ (Joe Country) y ‘The Slough House‘ (it is not yet published in Spain), novels 6 and 7 of the saga of Jackson Lamb de Mick Herron. Novels that are being adapted for television by Will Smith and this sixth, specifically, by Gaby Chiappe.

In the cast we find, along with Gary Oldman, with Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Samuel West, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Joanna Scanlan y Jonathan Pryce.

By the way, with this renewal the series becomes the oldest in terms of number of Apple TV+ seasons. This spy comedy surpasses ‘For All Mankind’, whose season 5 is on the way. Of course, being short seasons, they still need to surpass it in number of episodes.
