Community Manager, North America, AWS Developer Experience – Amazon.jobs

Are You AWS’s Next Community Maestro? Dive into the Life of a Developer Advocate!

Ah, the world of cloud computing! A land where developers frolic amongst APIs and handle more data than a dodgy news app during scandal season. Now, if you’ve ever fancied yourself as a detail-oriented community manager who could charm programmers into sharing their deepest, darkest code secrets, listen up! The lightning-fast folks over at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Developer Experience Team are on the hunt for someone just like you. Yes, you! The one who can manage a community like a magician pulling rabbits from hats—less “Abracadabra,” more “Let’s build a robust cloud environment!”

Key Responsibilities: A Walk in the Clouds

  • Own the NAMER Community Advocacy Strategy: You’ll not just engage with developers; you’ll practically be their best friend, hosting community meet-ups where GPUs are the hot topic! Coffee cups in hand, of course.
  • Scale Community Programs: You’ll juggle User Groups and AWS Community Days like a circus performer—hopefully with fewer pie-throwing incidents. Think of it as “community management” meets “Cloud Olympics.”
  • Metrics and Progress Reporting: This is the part where you’ll dust off your analytical skills and discuss community initiatives with leadership. Being able to say, “Look at these engagement rates!” while looking incredibly serious is a definite plus.

In the glorious realm of AWS, you’ll be collaborating with a team dedicated to winning developers’ hearts and minds. It’s a bit like being a modern-day Cupid, but instead of arrows, you’ve got code snippets and training resources. Romantic, isn’t it?

Now you might be thinking, “Why AWS? What’s in it for me?” Well, let’s just say they are the rockstars of the cloud world. They spearheaded cloud computing, and their innovation level is so high, you’d need a space suit just to talk to them! We’re talking companies that have made it big—start-ups and Global 500 firms alike, all trusting AWS to keep their operations smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy.

Inclusivity and Diversity: A Rainbow Under the Cloud

At AWS, they’re ticking boxes like a high-stakes game of bingo. Diversity? Check! They openly encourage applicants of all walks of life—even if your career path looks more like a twisted roller coaster than a neatly paved road. Have experience in knitting but none in tech? We say, give it a go! We’re living in a time when preposterous is the new normal.

The Work-Life Balance: No Cloud Too Dark

Let’s get real for a moment. Working at AWS means you get to enjoy a work-life harmony as sweet as a perfectly brewed latte. They understand that smashing goals at work shouldn’t mean a wrecked home life—like trying to balance a cat and a jug of milk on a unicycle. Flexibility? Yes, please! With AWS, you have the support to foster productivity both in your code and at your kitchen table.

The Madness of Mentorship

Plus, you won’t be left stranded in this cloud. The company boasts a treasure trove of mentorship resources, just waiting for you to dip in. Knowledge-sharing? Check!
