“We won’t know on the eve either, but hypothetically the starting price is expected from 1.10 to 1.20 euros/liter”, the president of the Attica Petrol Dealers’ Union, Maria Zaga, told ERTNews.
“The changes are from the refineries. At the moment simple unleaded in Attica and Thessaloniki is 1.75-1.80, while oil started from 1.38. We have too many complaints about tampered pumps, for forgery, for these supposedly cheap ones, while with the new law there was an incident where instead of closing a gas station, it went to court for lost profits,” said Mrs. Zaga.
“Our space was filled with traffic. My phone doesn’t stop for tampered pumps. However, the cap is still behind us and whatever percentage we had at the end of August 2021 is still there now. Of course there are different tariffs and if I see someone with a price below 1.70, of course I get angry”, he added, speaking of many “household gas station owners who were forced to close”.
At the same time, he referred to the illegal – smuggled shipping fuel, stressing that AADE correctly obliged with a chip at customs and ships in, but “a week now the chip does not work on the trucks and I am waiting for fuel at my gas station”.
