Asunción, IP Agency.- Through its credit products and the Guarantee Fund (Fogapy), the Financial Development Agency (AFD) will reach 10,000 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) this year, according to projections.
The board member, Isaac Godoy, pointed out that this figure represents a 40% increase in the number of MSMEs benefiting.
With the financial products, it is expected to reach 4,500 loans for MSMEs for USD 20 million, while with Fogapy guarantees were granted for more than 4,300 loans so far this year, he detailed in an interview with Paraguay TV.
In total, until September, second-tier banks channeled USD 180 million in credits into the financial system. 65% of the resources correspond to housing programs.
«This year housing financing grew. Che Roga Pora came to improve the offer because the final rate of the program, 6.5%, generates a lot of interest,” he indicated.
Godoy pointed out that AFD works with both banks, financial institutions, and type A cooperatives, which allows them to increase the coverage of their products and promote the banking of MSMEs, one of the Government’s objectives.
«Within the Strategic Plan to promote MSMEs, several of these cooperatives have received resources for the first time, from there we understand that it will facilitate the access to microenterprises, especially in the interior of the country, who also, of course, need these financing alternatives,” he explained.
