Germán Berterame Makes His Mark: A Cheeky Look at the Mexican National Team‘s Big Match

Hold onto your sombreros, folks! The Mexican National Team is stepping onto the pitch to tango with Valencia this October FIFA Date, and they’re bringing a fresh-faced debutante with them: Germán Berterame. Yes, that’s right—someone finally decided that giving international caps to new talent is in vogue! And who better to ignite the spark than the oh-so-charming Berterame, a player as trendy as a taco stand that runs out of cilantro.

The Tactical Tango with Javier Aguirre

Now, let’s talk about Javier Aguirre, the man himself, who’s leading this merry band of Aztecs. It’s his third game in charge, and he’s hoping to keep that shiny undefeated record intact. It’s like juggling flaming torches while tightrope walking—it’s exhilarating but also has “Oops!” written all over it. Having started with a win against New Zealand and pulled off a draw against Canada, Aguirre has managed to keep his cool under pressure. But let’s be honest, facing a club side like Valencia is a whole new level. It’s like playing a game of chess with someone who’s already knocked a few pieces off the board before you even started.

A New Kind of Challenge

As César Montes aptly pointed out, playing a club team isn’t exactly a walk in the park. It’s more like trying to find a cab in Mexico City during rush hour—everyone’s busy, and it’s bloody chaotic! Montes acknowledges that Valencia is no small fry; they’re a significant club competing in LaLiga, which is like saying your grandma’s enchiladas are good when, in reality, they’re the stuff of legends.

For their part, Valencia has decided to show up without most of their star players due to injuries and international commitments, which means they’re bringing a youth squad that might be more eager than experienced. It’s a bit like going to a fancy restaurant but getting served the kids’ menu—at least it’s colorful, right?

The Lineups: Who’s Who?

So, what do we have on the field? For Mexico, Aguirre has opted for a rather fresh lineup: Raúl Rangel, alongside Jorge Sánchez and César Montes forming the backbone of the defence. In midfield, we’re looking at Luis Romo and Carlos Rodríguez, flanked by a sprinkle of flair from Alexis Vega and the debutant, the dashing Germán Berterame. And let’s not forget the ever-charming Guillermo Martínez—probably the player your mother would want you to marry!

Valencia will trot out with a lineup featuring Vincent Abril at the helm, supported by youth squadmates probably still trying to figure out how to tie their shoelaces. Isn’t youth cute? You know, it’s like petting a puppy—you’re just waiting for it to do something ridiculous!

What to Expect?

As the match kicks off at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium in Puebla, we can expect a thrilling contest filled with energy, enthusiasm, and perhaps a dash of youthful exuberance from the Mexican side. Let’s hope Agüero’s tactics work wonders because, as we all know, in football, the only thing that tops skill is a good dose of cheeky banter among teammates. So, grab your snacks, settle in, and let’s see if the young guns can make a statement against the seasoned Valencians!

Germán Berterame makes his debut with the Mexican National Team as a starter against Valencia

The Mexican National Team will begin the October FIFA Date facing Valencia from the Spanish LaLiga and the match would allow Javier Aguirre, coach of the Aztec team, to give the opportunity to various players who have little experience with the international team.

The ‘Vasco’ will face his third game in charge of the Mexican National Team and Javier hopes to maintain his undefeated record with the Aztec squad. Aguirre debuted with a win against New Zealand on the September FIFA Date and, later, drew against Canada. The match against Valencia will be Mexico’s first game against a club since 2013 and César Montes, one of the leaders of the current Aztec squad, indicated that it is not easy to face a club in an international duel.

“Yes, it is a bit difficult to assimilate playing against a club, but it is what we have to do, surely there are many teams competing for something, everyone is busy. “Valencia is a great club, it plays in one of the best leagues and we have to face it in the best way,” said Montes.

The match against Valencia will be played at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium in Puebla and Javier Aguirre could give young players such as Marcel Ruiz, Bryan González and Jesús Orozco the opportunity to start.

For its part, the Spanish squadron traveled to Aztec territory without most of its figures. Coach Rubén Baraja will not have his international elements nor will he have several players who are injured, so the helmsman had to make up his squad with some names from the club’s youth categories.
