Hotel maintenance man dead from electrocution

A 42-year-old maintenance worker of a 5-star hotel in <a href="https://www.archyde.com/swedish-family-caught-in-the-fires-on-kos-blowing-straight-at-our-hotel/" title="Swedish family caught in the fires on Kos: "Blowing straight at our hotel"”>Kardamena, Kos, died tragically while working.

The unfortunate 42-year-old, originally from Rhodes, while performing work, according to information from ERT N. Aegean, suffered an electric shock and was immediately taken to Kos Hospital at noon on Tuesday, October 15, where he was pronounced dead.

“The site of the accident should be sealed off and guarded in order to carry out all the necessary investigations and to check whether all protective measures are being observed in the hotel unit in all departments and for all colleagues” requests KEPEK (Center for Occupational Risk Prevention Piraeus and N. Aegean) the Labor Center of Northern Dodecanese.

“Unfortunately, the tragic list of workers who do not return home is increasing,” the Labor Center underlines, speaking of yet another labor accident and expressing its sadness at the death of the 42-year-old.

SYRIZA – PS speaks of a lack of controls at workplaces, stressing that “the government must apologize for the degradation and understaffing of SEPE”.

A preliminary investigation into the exact causes of the industrial accident is being carried out by the 2nd Police Directorate of Dodecanese.
