The claims module system in ship operations developed by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has received recognition from global shipping industry players. Veson Nautical LLC, which is a leading maritime software company from the United States (US), is interested in collaborating with PIS in developing the claims module.

PIS Director of Human Resources and Business Support Surya Tri Harto said that PIS officially received documents stating initial investment intentions or letter of intent (LOI) from Veson Nautical LLC. In the LOI submitted, Veson expressed interest in collaborating with PIS in developing the claims module that had previously been initiated by PIS. The submission of the cooperation readiness document was carried out at the PIS Asia Pacific office in Singapore, last week

“This collaboration reflects PIS’ vision to lead digital transformation in the shipping sector,” he said in an official statement, Tuesday (15/10).

Surya said the submission of this LOI marked an important step in the collaboration between the two companies to develop the claims module in Veson’s IMOS system, which is widely used by players in the global shipping industry. Collaboration with Veson is expected to improve Pertamina’s maritime operational performance through the advanced data platforms and solutions offered by Veson.

“With the support and technological innovation from Veson, PIS is ready to bring positive change to the maritime industry,” he said.

They believe in the superiority of this claims system, making PIS establish its position as a leader in the digitalization of the shipping industry in Southeast Asia by developing complex digital products internally, especially claims modules.

Veson Nautical LLC Commercial Director Russ Hubbard added that previously PIS had used the Veson platform in accordance with IMO standards (International Maritime Organization) and has proven its superiority in developing digital technology for PIS ship operations.

“For this reason, in line with the long-term target of digital transformation, we are interested in exploring the potential for future collaboration,” said Russ. (J-3)
