A new Indonesian FILM with the Action-Thriller genre, The Shadow Strays, will soon be launched on the over the top (OTT) Netflix platform on October 17 2024. This is a film by director Timo Tjahjanto who was previously successful through the series The Big 4 and has been watched by more than 19 people. 7 million hours.
A number of Indonesian actors are present in the film, including Aurora Ribero (13), Hana Masalan (Umbra), Andri Mashadi (Ariel), Kristo Immanuel (Jeki), Adipati Dolken (Prasetyo), Agra Piliang (Haga) and young actor Ali Fikry (Monji). This film tells the story of 13, a trained assassin, who tries to save a little boy he just met, Moji, from being kidnapped.
Playing an action-thriller film certainly means that the players are often involved in action scenes. Sometimes during the process of filming or rehearsing action scenes, it is not uncommon for actors to accidentally throw real punches or kicks at their co-stars, which then causes injuries. This also happened during the production process of The Shadow Strays itself.
“So what’s really exciting is that in an action film there are bound to be accidents, whether it’s being hit or accidentally being kicked, and that’s a very normal thing in action and it happens in The Shadow Strays. “When we entered this project, we were ready to be battered,” said Hana Malasan at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (15/10).
Even though these things are commonplace in action films, of course no one knows what a person’s feelings are. Hana also revealed that the cast of The Shadow Strays has effective tips for maintaining each other’s feelings and avoiding disputes due to being hit or kicked.
“Usually to make up for it so there’s no slek (dispute) this time, so whoever accidentally kicks or hits another player has to treat the player who gets hit, usually we buy them coffee or pizza,” said Hana.
Agra Piliang is an example of a victim who was hit by another opponent. He was accidentally punched by Aurora Ribero until he bled. “So at that time, when we were practicing choreo, we were on video board, there was a position where I was practicing choreo with Aurora and I was more or less hit hard by Aurora and it made me bleed, but after that I bought coffee so it wasn’t a problem,” said Agra while laugh.
It is known that The Shadow Strays is Timo’s first film released on Netflix after The Night Come for Us in 2018. Even though 6 years have passed, Timo is still not tired of presenting films in the Action-Thriller genre.
With a duration of around 145 minutes, throughout the film the audience will be satisfied with full action scenes. Timo doesn’t want to let the audience breathe, for almost the entire 145 minutes of the film the audience will be presented with Aurora’s slick performance against her opponents. (M-3)
