The ambassadors of the Czech Republic, the Order of Malta and Ecuador begin their work in Lithuania

In the meeting with the new Czech ambassador Aleš Opata, the head of the country discussed bilateral cooperation, economic relations, G. Nausėda emphasized that he values ​​the Czech Republic‘s contribution to the security of the region and the Alliance by contributing to NATO missions.

According to the president, Lithuania and the Czech Republic have the potential to develop bilateral cooperation in the sectors of high added value products and services: life sciences, information communications, finance, defense technologies, and tourism.

Support for Ukraine was also discussed at the meeting: the head of the country emphasized the need for strategic planning and ensuring that Ukraine receives all the necessary support it needs to win this war.

At that time, the president discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral relations, the development of trade and economic relations, especially in the field of financial technologies, with the ambassador of Ecuador, Diego Fernando Morejon Pazmino.

G. Nausėda thanked the ambassador for Ecuador’s principled position in the face of Russia’s war against Ukraine, invited him to get involved in the issues of Russia’s international responsibility, the establishment of a special tribunal, and emphasized the international food crisis caused by Russia. At the meeting, the President noted excellent cooperation in international organizations.

In a meeting with the Ambassador of the Order of Malta, Christoph Calice, G. Nausėda was pleased with the Order’s active activities in Lithuania and thanked the ambassador for the social and healthcare programs implemented in the country. The President emphasized that reducing inequality and exclusion and strengthening the welfare state in Lithuania is important to him.
