The arrival of delegations from different countries for the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization continues, delegations from China, India, Russia, Iran and Kyrgyzstan have reached Pakistan.
A four-member delegation of India and a 76-member delegation of Russia arrived at Islamabad Airport to participate in the cooperation meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. In addition, seven representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization also reached Pakistan.
A 15-member delegation from China, four from Kyrgyzstan and two from Iran also reached the federal capital. There were tight security arrangements on the occasion of the delegation’s arrival in Pakistan.
According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang will visit Pakistan from October 14 to 17. According to diplomatic sources, Iranian First Vice President Dr. Mohammad Raza Arif is expected to arrive in Pakistan on October 15 to participate in the SCO conference.
The Chinese Prime Minister will be accompanied by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The parties will also discuss regional and global developments.
The Chinese Prime Minister will meet President Asif Ali Zardari as well as parliamentary leaders and top military leadership.
Iranian First Vice President Dr. Mohammad Reza Arif is expected to arrive on October 15. The Iranian First Vice President will also hold meetings with the Pakistani leadership on the sidelines of the SCO Heads of State meeting. In these meetings, discussions are expected on Pak-Iran relations, the situation in the region, especially Gaza and Lebanon.
It should be noted that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit will be held on November 15 and 16 in the federal capital, Islamabad.
According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, the Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the summit, while the First Vice President of Iran Dr. Mohammad Reza Arif and Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar will also participate in the meeting. .
Apart from this, the Prime Minister of the observer country Mongolia, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan will also be a part of the conference.
The government has declared a public holiday in Islamabad and its twin city of Rawalpindi for three days from Monday in connection with the SCO summit, during which all major roads in the capital have been closed to restrict movement.
The whole of Islamabad, including the Red Zone, which will host the summit, is decorated like a bride, with banners of Jabja Khushbodham and pictures of international leaders displayed.
During the conference, the metro bus service in the twin cities will remain closed from tomorrow till October 17, while heavy traffic from Lahore and Peshawar has also been banned in Rawalpindi from October 14 to 16.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the Jinnah Convention Center to review the arrangements, on this occasion the Chairman CDA and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave a briefing on which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction.
