“Russia may attack NATO by 2030” –

Russia will be able to attack NATO territory by 2030. This was claimed by the head of Germany’s foreign secret service Bruno Kahl speaking in Parliament in Berlin. “The Russian armed forces will be able to launch an attack on NATO by the end of this decade at the latest,” he told a Bundestag hearing. “The Kremlin considers the West, including Germany, as an enemy,” highlighted Kahl quoted by Dpa. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s goal, he underlined, is not only aimed at conquering Ukraine, but at “building a new world order.” Explaining that “the Russian secret services act without scruples”, Kahl said that “a worsening of the situation is far from unlikely”.

Meanwhile, according to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Germany’s domestic intelligence service), Germany narrowly avoided a plane crash in July, when a cargo package caught fire, possibly due to an attempted sabotage from Russia. It was only thanks to a lucky coincidence that the package caught fire on the ground at the DHL logistics center in Leipzig, and not during the flight, said the president of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Thomas Haldenwang, during a briefing public questioning by the German secret services in the Bundestag. Otherwise the plane would have crashed, Haldenwang revealed. According to information from Dpa, the lucky coincidence was that the onward flight of the cargo parcel from the Baltic states was delayed in Leipzig. The package contained an incendiary device that ignited on site and set fire to a container. Security circles speculate that the incident is linked to Russian sabotage.
