Hungarian Foreign Minister: Ukraine’s accession to NATO will mean the outbreak of World War III

Szijjarto explained in an interview with the Russian “Novosti” agency that since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Budapest has set red lines, and one of the most important of these lines was the need to “do everything possible to avoid any form of direct confrontation between NATO and Russia.”

He added: “Ukraine’s accession to the alliance means the outbreak of confrontation, the direct result of which will be a third world war, and we simply want to avoid that, which is why for us the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the alliance is not included on our agenda.”

He pointed out that most NATO foreign ministers, in their talks with representatives of the Kiev regime, talk about Kiev’s possible accession to the alliance, but they admit in closed sessions that this is impossible.

In response to a request to enumerate the countries that are part of the minority that still believe that Ukraine will join NATO, Szijjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjerto, but I am sure if I try to guess, I will hit the mark and realize things correctly.

When the minister’s interlocutor said that there were only two countries that wanted Ukraine to join the alliance, Szijjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjertos.

The annual NATO summit was held in Washington from July 9 to 11 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of NATO’s establishment in 1949.

The text of the joint declaration was published by the participants in the NATO summit in Washington, which includes an item on “Ukraine’s future in the alliance” and declares its more integrated political status.

In addition, the declaration states that NATO countries intend to continue to support Kiev “on its irreversible path towards full Euro-Atlantic integration,” which implies NATO membership.

This document specifically confirms that NATO Foreign Ministers will continue to evaluate the progress of the reforms implemented by Ukraine on an annual basis.

In September 2022, Ukraine applied to join NATO on an accelerated basis, and the organization itself has repeatedly stressed that joining the alliance is impossible while Ukraine is still in a state of conflict.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned that Ukraine’s accession would cause very negative consequences for European security and would require a firm response from Russia.

Peskov pointed out that Kiev’s move towards joining the alliance was one of the reasons for starting the Russian special operation in Ukraine.
