“We are going through a historic moment when a new “Berlin Wall” is being built. The only thing that depends on our efforts is where that border will be. We must do everything to keep Ukraine with the 1991 borders on this side. Efforts to strengthen the eastern flank depend on our will to defend – Germany’s decision to permanently deploy a brigade in Lithuania is a real example of the “Zeitenwende”.
Ukraine must become a member of NATO, NATO’s transatlantic security umbrella must also protect those countries that were left in the gray zone of geopolitics,” said the head of Lithuanian diplomacy at the forum.
Together with Minister G.Landsberg, Icelandic Foreign Minister Thordis Kolbrun Reykfjord Gylfadottir, Dutch Defense Minister Kasja Ollongren and United Kingdom Minister of State for the Armed Forces James Heappey took part in the discussion.
“Why, when we say that we will help Ukraine as long as necessary, can’t we clearly state that we seek the victory of Ukraine?” The victory of Ukraine must be the strategic goal of all of us”, asserted G. Landsbergis.
