Attention to Vilnius cyber security: enthusiasts are invited to participate in the competition and look for loopholes Business

The goal of the participants of the competition is to discover the security gaps of the pages belonging to the Vilnius city municipality. Cash prizes will be awarded for observed and confirmed errors.

“Vilnius is managed by many different systems, so preventing any malfunctions is extremely important. The “Bug Bounty” contest is one of the ways to encourage IT professionals to get involved in strengthening the city’s security, to help create a safer digital environment for everyone,” says Jonas Pidkovas, head of the Innovation and Technology Group of the Vilnius City Municipality Administration.

The competition will be held for 10 working days, during which participants will be able to search for security holes in the websites of the municipality. Cash prizes will be awarded for discovered and confirmed loopholes – depending on the complexity of the loophole, it will be possible to win a cash prize of 100 to 3,000 euros.

Those wishing to participate in the competition will first need to register and complete a confidentiality pledge. Registration will open on October 17.

The competition is open to all persons from the age of 14 who are interested in cyber security. Parental consent is required for minor participants.
