New details about iPhone SE 4. It will come close to modern brothers, but it won’t get the latest news – SMARTmania.cz

  • The iPhone SE 4 is supposed to look like the iPhone 14 with a single camera
  • The photo of the cover reveals the absence of the action button and the Camera Control sensor
  • On the other hand, Apple Intelligence support should not be missing

Apple will most likely introduce the fourth generation iPhone SE at the beginning of next year. The upcoming novelty is once again to become a “cheap” ticket to the world of Apple, but this time its concept will be significantly closer to the current models – instead of a tilting screen and a home button with a built-in fingerprint reader, it will get a full-screen design with a cut-out for the TrueDepth camera. A photo of the cover has now hit the internet, revealing more details.

iPhone SE 4: single camera without Camera Control support

With previous iPhone SEs, Apple always followed the same procedure – they used the chassis of one of the older models and installed a more modern chipset inside. The upcoming model will be similar, but with one small modification – Apple will reportedly use the chassis from the iPhone 14, but instead of a dual camera, it will place only one lens on the back. Corresponding to this is the oval horizontal cut-out in the cover, which will provide a passage for the mentioned lens and also the LED flash located next to it.

Alleged iPhone SE 4 cover

Buttons and a cut-out for a mechanical profile switch are also visible on the cover – so Apple apparently does not count on an action button for the iPhone SE 4. The Camera Control controller will not be present either, but in this case there is nothing to be surprised about – on the one hand, it would unnecessarily increase the price of the device, and on the other hand, its use would be more limited due to the single camera, especially in the area of continuous zoom. The iPhone SE 4 will not be able to cover as many focal lengths as its siblings, as it will not have a wide-angle camera. However, the main 48 Mpx camera is supposed to handle at least a lossless 2x zoom.

This is what the iPhone SE 4 should look like

The iPhone SE 4, on the other hand, is supposed to be strong in computing power. Apple does not want to deprive it of Apple Intelligence support and will give it the Apple A18 chipset, i.e. the same one that ticks in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. Instead of a 5G modem from Qualcomm, lossless connectivity will be provided by a modem of its own design.

It is the powerful chipset and artificial intelligence support that could be the iPhone SE 4’s main selling point, especially if Apple manages to set a more aggressive price.

Ah, the iPhone SE 4! Apple’s so-called “cheap” ticket to their mystical, overpriced amusement park. You know, the one where even the reflective surfaces are a bit judgmental. So, it seems the SE 4 will look a tad bit like its posh cousin, the iPhone 14, but with a significant difference — it only has one camera. One! Not exactly an upgrade value for money, is it? More like a selfie that missed the great dual-camera mandate in the family council meeting.

Now, let’s talk about this “revolutionary” single camera. Apple seems to have taken the approach of “Why give you two lenses when one would do?” It’s a bit like offering a steak dinner but only serving one half. “Enjoy!” they say. The photo of the cover is a slap in the face to the whole idea of versatility in mobile photography—no Camera Control sensor! It’s as if Apple looked at its customers and said, “Just point and shoot, folks! Let’s keep things simple… like your social life.”

And there’s more news! The action button is a ghost, vanishing before our very eyes, like my will to live when the Wi-Fi goes out. You’ve got an iPhone SE 4, but they won’t let you take control. Off the table it goes! No fancy toggles, just good old fashioned finger gymnastics… if you can remember what those do, that is.

Now, if you thought Apple was letting the SE 4 off the leash entirely, you’d be wrong. The little munchkin is getting the A18 chipset! Apple’s favorite chip that’s tucked into the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. So while the camera may be an anemic little thing, the processing power might just convince you that specs don’t matter—after all, there’s more to life than just a camera, right? Do you think Steve Jobs would have high-fived this decision? Or would he have simply raised an eyebrow, and muttered, “Just wait until you see the iPhone 17”?

Sure, if you care deeply about artificial intelligence, then voila! The SE 4 might just bestow some AI magic. But, let’s be honest—by the time you realize this phone is more powerful than it looks, there’ll be seven more models marching to market like a herd of over-hyped ducks.

Now don’t get too excited about this “affordable” model. Depending on how they price it, the phone could still cost as much as my monthly gym membership that I haven’t used in years! You know it’s overpriced when you start calculating how many lattes you could’ve bought instead.

In summary, Apple is pushing out another iPhone SE—part comfort food (because, you know, it’s “cheaper”) and part eyeball-rolling gimmick. And we all know that when it comes down to it, a single camera in an iPhone is really just an Apple trying to make a selfie stick a necessity in our lives. Ah, Apple—bringing skimpiness and superiority to a whole new level, one flimsy feature at a time!
