Index – FOMO – Gabi Tóth’s biggest fear was confirmed

The Semi-Finals: What a Spectacle! Or Should We Say, Spec-tacularly Cringe-Worthy?

So here we are, folks! The show has reached its penultimate broadcast, just before we crown the next *Star in Star*! With only four contestants left (thankfully, it’s not in single file like some sort of beauty pageant), things are heating up faster than a microwave meal on blast! Last night’s semi-finals showcased some solo and duet acts so riveting, even the jury had to try really hard *not* to fall asleep — a true achievement in this age of distractions, right?

In the audience, we had Emese Sáfrány and Anett Béres — the new winners of Asia Express. Emese flirted with the jury like a schoolboy on his first date, claiming she’d hike up a mountain with Klaudia Liptai, backpack and all! Meanwhile, Liptai championed the Sáfrány-Béres duo, probably because they brought a touch of female empowerment to a competition that could use an injection of sass—less whining, more winning!

The Maximum Scores Were Flying: Did Anyone Bring a Parachute?

The night kicked off with Ibolya Oláh tackling Bonnie Tyler’s classic Holding Out for a Hero. You’d think she was waiting for a hero to show up; the jury certainly was! It started a bit slow, and honest opinions came flying like dodgy cabaret reviews. András Stohl likened her voice to an ibis — and folks, that might just be fowl play.

“You don’t want to be a woman on stage. The dynamics are missing; something’s just… not right!”

That’s Liptai for you—spilling the tea before it’s even brewed! Oláh eventually snagged a rather generous 34 points, but honestly, at that rate, I could have given her a few more if only for effort.

Next up was Peti Puskás, who brought us back to the theater with a performance of Midnight from Cats. He seemed to be more enduring than the average cat’s nine lives, earning a loud cheer from the crowd. András Stohl’s exciting reaction nearly warranted a pillow fight—straight out of a bad rom-com! Puskás strutted away with 38 points. I would have voted for him just for the cat costume alone!

Then we had Péter Srámek, who dressed as Cher—don’t worry; it’s not as surprising as your uncle at the family reunion! He tackled Strong Enough, and while the sound was a hit or miss, it certainly made the audience swoon, and Attila Till called him “Sex d’Artagnan.” I can’t even… because that’s a name you’d use to order a drink at a bar! How charming! He scored 37 points even though the poor guy seemed like he was auditioning for a soap opera.

Fast forward to Gabi Tóth, who faced her greatest fear — becoming Azahriah (also known as the King of Emotion). She prepared with a stopwatch because who doesn’t need a ticking clock during their performance? But she sailed through and was rightly showered with maximum praise and 40 points. Let’s face it; she probably did it in slow-mo just to create suspense!

“The best thing I need to do is to be able to stay in the rhythm!”

Don’t we all, Gabi? Who hasn’t felt that way at a wedding disco?!

Gergő Oláh, the Bee Gees tribute act, danced and sang his heart out to Stayin’ Alive. They must have practiced that high note—his daughter was his vocal coach! Honestly, at this point, I’m half-expecting this show to be sponsored by family therapy. But remarkably, his performance was a hit, earning another flawless 40 points. Sticky floor disco and all!

Finally, we had the melodic magic from Petar Bayer Friderik, who patented the art of emotional ballads—using high notes like a sailor uses a compass—perfectly navigating through his arrangements. He received a mighty 40 points, and I started to wonder where that golden buzzer is when you need it!

Duets That Made Us Want to Sing Along (Or Cover Our Ears)

Olah Ibolya and Péter Srámek teamed up for Stumblin’ In. András Hajós cheekily volunteered to be best man at their wedding, clearly better at puns than he is at singing. Most of the judges loved it, except for Liptai, who probably prefers her love stories with a bit of drama. The duo landed a sweet 39 points.

Gabi and Peti decided to tackle a mashup of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ Die With a Smile. The judges said tackling such a difficult duet was like herding cats — yet they pulled it off beautifully, earning another max score of 40 points! Bravo! I’m still trying to decipher if they really are gifted or if it’s all smoke and mirrors. You never know!

As the evening wrapped up, we discovered who would advance: *Drumroll* – Petra Gubik, Péter Srámek, Gergő Oláh, and Peti Puskás made the cut! It seems like a reality show version of The Hunger Games, just with less killing and more glitter.

Until next week, dear readers, I leave you with this: if you can’t carry a tune, at least carry a sense of humor, because that’s what keeps us going in this mad world of reality TV!

I’m following you!

The show has reached its penultimate broadcast, the semi-finals of the tenth season. Only four have made it to next week’s final. The performers presented a solo or duet production, and the jury couldn’t get enough of the stars.

Emese Sáfrány and Anett Béres were sitting in the audience Asia Express new winners. Emese joked a line with the jury, then declared that he would watch Klaudia Liptai in Asia with a backpack. By the way, Liptai pushed for the Sáfrány–Béres duo, if only because they were women who could carry something through without constantly whining. The two competitors said that they have very bad memories of the competition, but they experienced the whole thing as a very good adventure: they always tried to survive the given day.

And what happened to whom this week? András Hajós had the feeling that Star in Star will be over next week, and that he might miss the show. According to András Stohl, this is a big deal, because they thought Hajós would paint in his boredom.

The maximum scores were flying

The series of productions was started by Ibolya Oláh, who is Bonnie Tyler Holding Out for a Hero performed his number The singer loves this song, she trusted that she could show her inherent energy. Still, the jury wasn’t blown away by the performance. The show was not perfect, the party started a little slowly. András Stohl thought that the singer’s voice was too “ibis”, Tyler was less audible in the song.

It’s like you don’t want to be a woman on stage. The dynamics are not there, somehow the body does not obey what comes out of the mouth. Something is missing from this

– said Klaudia Liptai, when Oláh Ibolya admitted that she likes being a woman, but she feels that there is very little preparation time to fully identify with the characters. The singer finally received 34 points from the jury.

Second, Peti Puskás took the stage, who returned to the theater and a Catsit was performed by Midnightt. Puskás himself appeared in the musical alongside Andrea Malek, who played Grizabella. According to Klaudia Liptai, the singer will live in people’s memories forever after the season, he touches the audience so much:

púskás is as necessary in today’s television as a bite of bread.

The hair on András Stohl’s back stood up, and he found the last sustained vocal note impressive. Peti Puskás’ production was worth 38 points.

Péter Srámek has already played a woman several times this season, and these transformations suited him well. Now, as Cher, she had to prove: a Strong Enough proved to be a bigger challenge, but Srámek successfully took on the obstacle – although the sound was not perfect, the audience loved the production. Attila Till called the singer “Sex d’Artagnan”, who performed better at the beginning and end of the song, but the middle of the show turned out to be a bit weaker. Ramóna Lékai-Kiss disagreed with the jury, in her opinion, this performance was Srámek’s second best production (after the Tóth Gabi song). The speaker received 37 points.

Gabi Tóth’s biggest fear was confirmed, as she had to take on the role of Azahriah in a production, namely the An introverted song until This is one of, if not, Azahriah’s most popular hits.

The best thing I need to do is to be able to stay in the rhythm

said the singer, who was preparing for the show with a stopwatch.

“The song was damn long, but you got through it. You really surprised me, it was in the top two productions that could be seen here so far,” András Hajós praised the singer, but Ramóna Lékai-Kiss was also up for what she saw/heard. According to András Stohl, there is no such thing as Gabi Tóth not reaching the final with this production. The singer (who could identify with the lyrics of the song) cried during the evaluation, and finally received the maximum score (40) from the jury.

Gergő Oláh is the Bee Gees Stayin’ Alive brought his hit song to the audience. The singer practiced the song with his little daughter because of the high notes. The jury, with the exception of András Hajós, rewarded the performance with applause. According to András Stohl, Gergő Oláh sang in record quality and danced in clip quality, Klaudia Liptai pointed out that all styles suit the singer well. Hajós said that Gergő Oláh showed that the key to a good production is authenticity. Ramóna Lékai-Kiss compared Gergő Oláh to a world star, who also scored 40 points.

Petar Bayer Friderik’s Wrinkle To whom should I tell my transgressions? performed his song. Ramóna Lékai-Kiss brought tears to the performance, as she said, Gubik evoked the same emotions in her as Peti Puskás. Klaudia Liptai agreed with her fellow judge, describing the singer as an ethereal being with a thousand faces. With András Stohl, he would have been the weekly winner.

In a small country like ours, sometimes even our good singers don’t sing well. But you sing well

– said András Hajós. Petra Gubik also received 40 points for the production.

They strengthened each other

Oláh Ibolya and Péter Srámek played a cute couple in the duet. by Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro, a Stumblin’ Inwas performed. András Hajós wants to be best man at this wedding, András Stohl and Ramóna Lékai-Kiss loved the performance. Only Klaudia Liptai criticized the production. Everyone except Hajós gave the duo 10 points, the performers ended this round with 39 points.

Gabi Tóth and Peti Puskás performed one of the biggest hits of the past two months, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Die With a Smile was performed. The jury emphasized that they were dealing with a difficult song, but they jumped on the task. Two era geniuses had to be summoned on stage, but the humility of the two performers towards each other convinced the judges: they were awarded 40 points.

Petra Gubik and Gergő Oláh flew the audience to Italy with Ricchi e Poveri Maybe it’s because I love you with his hit song. The jury liked the production so much that it gave it a maximum score.

Petra Gubik was the first to advance, becoming the daily winner for the fourth time.

The star guests of the evening will debut next Monday Rich young people had actors who a Just the chocolate they introduced themselves with the song

After the voting was restarted, the other runners-up were announced: Péter Srámek, Oláh Gergő, and finally Peti Puskás received the trust of the viewers. Peti Puskás praised the performance of Gabi Tóth that day, but also acknowledged the work of Oláh Ibolya.
